Is it just me - or have these shows been freezing up a lot more than usual the past couple of weeks? I'm too old to play Musical Chairs. But maybe it's just me and my provider. Chris (and all other loyal listeners), Unfortunately, some hackers have targeted the Arhive.org website and it has been temporarily shut down. I think they were having issues leading up to this incident. In addition, some big book publishers don't like the idea of having their still under copyright works available on line for free (even though you can go to a local library and check out books for free) and they are suing the website. I hope they get this cleared up soon as I have the rest of the 1960's shows ready to post.

Thanks for the update, Joe. I have been trying to listen to a show since Friday but I can't even get close to the list of your posted shows.

I guess I can choose to look forward to how new and fun it will be when access has been restored. In the meantime we have our Prof45 stuff on YouTube. But it's not the same, Joe.

Maybe Internet Archives could do a nominal charge, like maybe $5 a month, to help with copyrighted payments to artists.

A rebirth! The first thing I did was to use Random Org to pick the first of the 163 Joe shows I’ll listen to first. 1/11/1964 What are the odds? Yes I know 162 to 1, but still. I’m hearing Connie Francis in my head already. Oh no it’s loadin kinda slow like uncle Joe at the junction. Petticoat. Junction. Okay it worked with the second player. Joe you stepped on Ronnie’s vocal. It’s pretty cool that the same guy who produced the first song on the earliest Joe show also produced the last Beatles real-time hit, six years later.

Yes, I had to use the Win Amp! But oh so happy to hear Joe's 10-31-64 show with all the Halloween goodies.

Wow my memory was playing tricks on me with the Connie Francis thing. Her JFK song hadn't hit yet, and Blue Winter was two months away.
Dementia is scary.
Blue Winter sounds like it's from one of those Rankin Bass shows. It's weird to think that Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer wasn't even a TV show yet in January 1964. Now THAT'S a long time ago.

I went to the Internet Archive.org website this morning and it seems everything is running a little slower than usual--it might be a few days before I can upload any of the remaining 'new' 1960's countdowns. I will wait about a week to see if they get back up to speed and then attempt to load the remaining 1960's shows.
Thanks to everyone for their patience with this process and let's hope the hackers don't strike again.

I am still having problems with listening to the shows. It is like the "start button" to play the music is missing. I tried the win amp option for a few seconds but that is beyond my limited computer skills to use. I'll just keep checking every other day or so and keep watching this thread. Patience, Mitch, Patience.

There are two choices when you get the show--use the Web Amp, and then click the first hour of the show--mine came up in a highlighted green. Good luck.

Received an error message this morning when I attempted to listen to the 11-5-66 episode of the Cashbox Survey. I thought it was working again. Any clues Joe?

I am so happy to report I am successfully listening to 11-11-67, using the second option, Web Amp.
