This week’s Rewind is from May 8, 2004. Maybe later ct40.com updates the show, not yet.

I have a question about the show. I heard a couple minutes of the podcast I was sent and it just starts cold at hour 2. On the radio is there any sort of intro telling people what they are listening to? It would seem extremely odd if Cletus is driving down the road listening to "Where Are You Now" by Clint Black on the radio and then there's a station ID followed by hour 2 of an old American Country Countdown show.

I've liked his delivery from the start. He does sound more confident as time has gone on but he's always had a good sound.

Agree - they should have some sort of liner explaining it like AT40 70s/80s

I confirmed the date first based on what Bob said about the chart movements of #30 and #29, using the search engine & Billboard GoogleBooks (missed the very beginning of the show early Saturday morning) and went back to sleep close to the end of the 1st hour (originally end of the hour 2 technically). I think there was a female announcer telling the year (not date) of the show IIRC, in the half-hour mark (just after the second set of commercials); no idea if it was a Cumulus insert or the local station’s intro. The CT40 site does not have this promo. Once knowing the year, zeroing on the exact date was easy (this week on that particular year, plus or minus one week just in case.) Of course, Bob also referred that it was the mother’s day weekend during the show.

This weekend’s chart is from May 11, 1991. Yes, There was a female introducer from Cumulus heard with the promo “We’ll be right back with american country countdown from this week in 1991” without specifying the exact date before the second set of commercials, about 35min past Rewind’s 1st hour.

Heard ACC Rewind’s own “Jingle”(!) followed by the female voice again promoting this week’s year only, at the top of the 2nd hour. It was nice to hear Bob play an extended excerpt of 1980’s Pure Prairie League hit “Let Me Love You Tonight” with Vince Gill on its lead vocals before playing #17.

What’s going on?! It looks like somebody has screwed up the on-demand version of ACC Rewind on CT40.com. Not only the online show is not this last weekend’s broadcast show (from 5/11/91) nor the previous weekend's for that matter; the site also says it’s from 1991 while the countdown is really from the May 19, 2001.

I think it may be next weekend's or really this weekend's show that they uploaded. Dates line up and they have been bouncing back and forth between the 90s and 00s so far.

That was also my first hunch. It’s been only a couple of weeks and too early to surmise a trend but I think week-by-week they might alternate between the first 8 years (1990-1997) and the last eight (1998-2005) intermittently.

IMHO, what is posted as a podcast is next week show , the one ready to be posted next Monday. I hope the people there fix the error. I think nobody recorded the show on terrestrial radio counting with this podcast.
Let´s hope at CT40.com they understand time machine doesnt exist and we cant travel again to last weekend....

The 5/11/91 show had a new on-going feature for the first week: #1 country songs of the previous 25 years in alphabetical order by song title, at the rate of three a week (originally at the end of the “axed” 1st hour, at the end of the second hour, and at the end of the third hour.) We never had a chance to hear again Bob’s complete intro just after the #31, and the first “A” song (1989’s “Above and Beyond” by Rodney Cromwell), although he briefly mentioned the song again after #21.
