The one that is truly forgotten today, it seems is the band at No. 22 this particular week: the Gibson/Miller Band. Their hit " High Rollin'" was their biggest chart hit (would peak at No. 20 a week later). Led by Dave Gibson and Bill "Blue" Miller -- Miller was a guest musician in Bob Seger's Silver Bullet Band -- Brian There’s another Bob Seger non-country connection in the 5/1/93 chart. The producer of the Tracy Lawrence #1 song is James Stroud. Although James landed in Nashville around 1981, he was previously better known as one of the prolific drummers not only in R&B and rock sessions but in tour bands working with people as diverse as the Pointer Sisters, Dorothy Moore, Randy Newman, Paul Simon and of course, Bob Seger. www.americansongwriter.com/1995/05/james-stroud-from-rock-to-country/

Glad we have the ACC Rewind online and on-demand now. Much better done than Rick Dees site (which over time on-and-off has be prone to a number of glitches.) and almost as detailed as a cue-sheet with times shown for individual songs (and Bob's intros.) Hopefully CT40 site will add the stations list that air the Kingley’s ACC rewind program (perhaps the same way the site lists the stations that carry the current CT40)
But I contacted several Nash Icon PD/MD already. A few wrote and got back to me during today. If there’s still interest in listing the broadcast stations that carry the show, here’s what I’ve got (ALL TIMES LOCAL where the station is located). I guess we need monitoring this weekend for a final confirmation of the info.
WZAT/102.1/Savannah, GA/Sundays/7PM-10PM
KLSZ-FM/100.7/Fort Smith, AR/PD says that although a Nash Icon station because of market conflict (market exclusivity?) they do not carry the show. So there may be another country oldies station in the area that does.
KQLK/97.9/Lake Charles, LA/They do not carry the Rewind currently, but they will in a couple of months. Accordingly, Cumulus has put this station into ‘B’ group; and ACC Rewind will be offered to them at a later date rather than on the onset.
WMIM/98.3/Monroe, MI/Sundays/9PM-Midnight
WOGT/107.9/Chattanooga, TN/Saturdays/6AM-9AM & Sundays/9AM-Noon (carrying the show twice during the weekend)
W237DE/95.3/Harrisburg, PA/Sundays/8AM-11AM
WKOS/104.9/Tri-Cities, TN-VA/although a Nash Icon station, doesn’t carry the show.

I have a feeling the market exclusivity may be if Bob's current show airs on a competing station. The Nash branded stations typically carry ACC with Kix, and even though both ACC and CT40 are together now under Westwood One, if another station in the market has CT40 then I disagreeumption is they have market exclusivity with Bob.

I am surprised that they are so "open" about intertwining the worlds of ACC and CT40. Same here. This gives me hope we'll get Casey's Top 40 and/or Shadoe shows in the future. If old ACC's can be aired at the same time the current ACC is still going on with no rights issues (between Cumulus, WW1, Billboard, etc) then anything is possible. Listened to some of the 5/1/93 show and there are some good country gems on it (even though Country is not my favorite genre). It was fun to listen to the credits at the end and hear some of the same names that worked on AT40 at the time (Matt Wilson, etc), and of course credit being given to Casey, Don, and Tom! I think the difference is that the old ACC shows with Bob we're either owned by Westwood One, is it syndicating this series, or were owned by Bob who granted the permission. Casey's Top 40 and AT40 with Shadoe are tied up by ownership issues these ACC Rewind shows were not.

WW1 has never owned ACC for even 1 day unless it's in some new convoluted form. It was Watermarks which merged with ABC which became Cumulus somehow. The show, unlike AT40 has been continuous since it debuted in 1973.

Wasn't sure if now that they are WW1 and syndicate the current version, they took ownership of past broadcasts kind of like Premiere with AT40 - and now that CT40 is there if all the shows fall under a big unbrella now.
Versus Casey shows, where all the WW1 years do not fall with the same ownership of the Watermark and Premiere years, which are now all Premiere owned, minus the Shadoe years.
Also, I apologize for some AutoCorrect typos in those last few posts by me.

While on this board that usually refers to Casey's Top 40, in this thread does that refer to Bob Kingsley's current show? He usually refers to it as CT40 on the air (in 1989 when Casey did that ABC/Watermark hit Westwood One with a lawsuit over the abbreviation's similarity to AT40.)

Yes Paul there will be a quiz later about all the ownership of, years of all the various countdown shows, who the hosts were and a bonus question about the rebroadcast schedules for the rest of 2015.

AT40 the 70s will feature programs between 1970 and 1979
AT40 the 80s will feature shows from 80-August 88
ACC Rewind will feature shows from 1990-2005
How did I do?
And yes, that's the closest predictions I'm making.

I just listened to a short clip, I first heard Bob in 2005. While his voice has not aged to the extent that Casey's did, you can hear a much higher energy and higher pitch in his voice on this Rewind show. I noticed he sounded much older to me when I heard last week's show after not hearing it for a couple of years. He does. But also compare his very earliest ACC shows to his peak to now. From his first permanent shows in 1978 to about the mid-1980s, he's more laid back and relaxed. (Not to say he isn't relaxed throughout, but it's far more noticeable here). If you're lucky enough to have listened to, for instance, the 1980 and 1981 year-end countdowns, and compare it to a year-ender from the 1990s, there is a big, big difference in his delivery. The late 1980s through about the latter half of the 2000s, he's at his peak, vocally and show energy-wise. He's older now, but still an authoritative voice on country music. He still is doing a good job and I think he's got some time left in him. But as I noted early on, the re-airing of past ACC shows indicates to me this is paving the way to retirement and that "Country Top 40" will soon be a thing of the past -- unless, of course, he's mentoring someone behind the scenes to continue the show. And, as someone pointed out, this will keep him on the airwaves indefinitely, as long as there is interest. Brian

No way it lasts without him. Just like the WT40 without Dees. It dies the day he leaves.

Bob is 76. A year younger than when Casey left his shows, but as we have now learned, Casey was likely already quite ill in July 2009. Bob sounds much better at 76 than Casey did.
That said, Bob could retire any time he wants, but I get the impression he enjoys what he did, and he is much more connected and involved with the music than Casey ever was. I hope he goes on a while as he truly is the last of an era. Maybe he goes to 2018 which gives him 40 years? I hope so!

HE'S 76? REALLY?! I guess I never really thought about his age. You can tell by looking at him he's never met a plastic surgeon he didn't like though. But yes, I think he's on country music award panels and all. So yes he is influential in country music circles. Casey wouldn't have ever been involved in that sort of thing.
