The group Steam who recorded "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" was based in Bridgeport,Connecticut-The lead singer was Gary De Carlo who went by the name Garrett Scott-In late 1969,their lone hit spent two weeks at # 1-In 1987,the Canadian acapella group The Nylons released their version & it did fairly well-For the remainder of his life,Gary De Carlo continued to tour until he died from lung cancer on June 28th 2017-He was 75.

The highest debuting song on this week's presentation from 12/5/64 was "I Feel Fine" by The Beatles-It was the final # 1 hit of 1964 & their sixth chart topper overall-The flip side was also superb:"She's A Woman".
