You guys have been speculating a lot about the late '60s not being featured on the show. It's true that 1969 is long overdue. But if you really pay attention to my posts in particular, you'll see that there's a plan for the next several weeks. And yes, it comes straight from the so-called powers that be at '60s Gold. Here's my post from last month regarding the next time 1969 will be played, and why: www.at40fg.proboards.com/post/192778

I'm not sure how the ongoing case of Turtles v. SiriusXM is developing. I do know for a fact that the overplayed 3/29/69 chart -- the first without the Turtles -- won't be featured this time around. That's because last year I dropped executive producer Lou Simon a line to let him know just how overused that list was. You guys may remember how we banded together to provide him with a master list. Well, Lou was impressed enough to ask me to remind him last month not to repeat 3/29/69. He already had it set up that way once again. But thanks to me, he shuffled a few things. So now we'll hear '69 towards the end of April. Thanks for the reminder, doofus67.

Dave also mentioned that there would be a special on the Top 300 Spring songs coming soon as well. I guess we will hear the exact date as it gets closer. That will probably be all weekend and may repeat much like the end of year specials.
Since it is just over 3 months until Casey Kasem started AT 40 the 70s in July 1970, I am hoping for a show that fills in the gap between December 1969 and July 1970. Certainly agree that is would have been too much to hear a fourth late March 1969 episode for the fourth year in a row. IMO mid-April would have been okay.

Even though The Beatles animated movie "Yellow Submarine" was released in 1968,the title song was a hit two years earlier.
