I was five years old when the British Invasion started-Can't wait to hear this one! A continuation of the British Invasion will continue with 1965. Enjoy that one as well

At the close of this week's show,Dave mentioned that next week's show will feature hits from the early 70's which sounds similar to the tribute he did last year to "AT40" on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary.

Sometime in June there is supposed to be a special for Black Music Month, and eventually 1966 will be played. 1967 will have to wait until late July after "She'd Rather Be With Me" drops off the Top 40. 1968 and 1969 didn't have Turtles songs, so they can be played until 1967 is eligible.
I am curious as to next week's Early 70's Countdown which years will be included. I know there was the "gap filler" in previous years where January to June 1970 were played as part of 60's Satellite Survey before inception of AT 40 the 70's in July 1970.

Why won't they play the turtles? I play them on my show, they haven't made me angry about anything.

Why won't they play the turtles? I play them on my show, they haven't made me angry about anything. Sirius/XM doesn't play the Turtles due to the royalties lawsuit filed several years ago by Flo and Eddie against Sirius/XM. Sirius/XM paid a pretty penny to several entities and as "punishment" they stopped playing songs by the Turtles.

It was stupid of them to sue XM over it, whether they deserve money or not at least they are still getting their play. I imagine if somebody suit me depending on the outcome I would maybe play them or maybe not. But I might show I even play Bill Cosby and Gary Glitter despite them going to jail for things. I just compromised by never saying their name.

Can't believe Mark Volman & Howard Kaylen (Flo & Eddie) would take legal action against Sirius/XM.

The legal action was resolved with the Shirelles a few years ago, but Sirius also didn't play the aforementioned group on their channel. Just think how many early 60's countdowns would be affected with songs like Will You Love Me Tomorrow, Baby It's You, Dedicated to the One I Love, Soldier Boy, Foolish Little Girl.
