"You Showed Me" by the Turtles blocked 1969 shows from 01/25 to 03/22. The rest of 1969 is Turtle free. Executive producer Lou Simon calls the shots when it comes to which chart dates are used and when. He now has my new master list of all of the dates, including repeats, that have ever been used since the Survey debuted in November, 2010. He really wants to avoid multiple dips into the same well, so to speak. Therefore, I can guarantee that we won't hear 3/29/69 this year, if ever again. As we all know, Lou has used that date four times since Dave took over as host. A big thanks to skyseth for his meticulous record keeping. You should do the same for Lou's 50's Flashback show on 50's Gold This week is 1959!

Dave is in fact going with 1969, and yes, "Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In" was #1 for the first of its six week run.

I suspect we'll hear a 1969 countdown sometime in April. "You Showed Me" by the Turtles blocked 1969 shows from 01/25 to 03/22. The rest of 1969 is Turtle free. And it was the Turtles' last ever hit, which is fortunate for SXM's selections so long as this boycott of them lasts. If they had still been having hits in the 70s then that might have affected their selection of AT40s.

Not so fortunate for 1967--more than 1/2 of the year had a Turtle's hit in the Top 40.

Saturday's show was rather lengthy, which lasted until 4:40 pm EST. Saturday, 4-13-24 will be 1962, and date should be 4-14-62, when "Johnny Angel" by Shelley Fabares was #1. Shelley of course was Mary Stone on "Donna Reed" and played Christine Armstrong on "Coach." She has been married to Mike Farrell of "M.A.S.H." since 1984.
Songs were shorter in 1962, so way shorter than yesterday's show.

"Bridge Over Troubled Water" was the #1 song on Billboard's Top 100 of 1970. Just one year later, Aretha Franklin would have a Top 10 hit with the remake of "BOTW".
