I did lose it all Shadster. But over the last 2+ years I was able to trade for not only what I lost back then but everything else pretty much too. I now have every AT40 - Casey's last episode, Every CT40 except the missing 5, every HAC AT20 from 04-shows end, and am working on AT10 now. I also have a lot of other shows too but that's the unbroken 39 straight year lineage I can claim to have.
The fact I was able with the help of a few others to do so much so fast is why others who want to collect always have hope to be able to do so. Sometimes it's not easy and doesn't happen right away but eventually it can...even now.
As far as weekend shows, one is called the weekend 22 which is a Christian Hit Radio show and the other is the weekend top 20 which is a Christian AC Countdown. I listen to all the shows at work so the time passes away faster.

I currently have the Top 100 shows from 1980 and 1976 and the July 1979 disco special on my iPod shuffle.

As mentioned in my post last night in this thread, I would have heard the 2/11/78 show if I had more time. Well thanks to Old Man Winter's latest onslaught....enough already BTW....I have the time to hear it today. And this could be put in the Casey Kasem jinx thread, but he said "The Animals took "Don't Let me be Misunderstood" up to #15. If this keeps moving up like it has been, Santa Esmerelda will take their version even higher". Well it stalled AT #15!
Interesting factoid. Casey says "I Go Crazy" has never climbed more than 3 notches in any week its been in the top 40. As a comparison, that song that dethroned IGC of the longevity record, "Tainted Love" was up 6 then 4 then 8 then 4 notches in its first 4 weeks in the top 40.

Today I listened to 7/19/86. It was a quick one since all i have is the top20. Tommorow, assuming I can get my car out, will start listening to 2/6/85? I think.

Listening to the 2/12/00 AT40. How many #1 songs of the year hold at a position like #25? That's exactly what "Everything You Want" did this week. Of course this is one of those unique #1s of the year that did not hit #1. And chart movement like this...taking its time going up and presumably down the chart...is why it became the top song of the year.

Daily update:
Today I am listening to the show from this date in 1988. Some of my favorite songs aren't even the big hits: "Pump Up the Volume" by M/A/R/R/S; "Pop Goes the World" by Men Without Hats; "Crazy" by Icehouse. Just to name a few.

Who has any episodes from 1989-2004? I would love to listen to Casey's final show.

AT40 from 2/13/93. First time in AT40 history that a husband and wife both have 2 songs in the survey. Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston. She also achieves a chart first with 2 remakes in the top 10. Shadoe played a clip of one of the originals..."I'm Every Woman" by Chaka Khan with backup vocals from Cissy Houston. One first that does not occur however involves Whitney's other song. "I Will Always Love You" falls from the #1 position and has to settle for a tie for most weeks at #1 by a solo woman. That would be 10 of course.
Oh and there were no rap songs in this show. Now I know why 1993 is my fave year musically in the 90s.

Somewhat coincidental that I mentioned rap in my last post. Because I am listening to the 2/15/92 show and that is when the !#&* started to hit the fan regarding rap and the sampling inherent in it. Shadoe talked about the lawsuit filed by 2 members of the Turtles against the group De La Soul for sampling their song "You Showed Me" in 1989. Shadoe said it was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount and asked whether sampling was borrowing, stealing or a form of creativity. Well I know one of those it is definitely not which tells you where I stand on that subject. This was all just before he played Salt-N-Pepa's cover of "You Showed Me" in the countdown. Now that is the proper way for a rap group to treat an old song..by covering it. Of course Salt-N-Pepa is probably the only rap group I like.
Well, how do you like that! The flashback for both this show and the one I heard the other day were both from 1990.....2/15/92 and 2/13/93. And yes it was the same top 5.

Started listening around noon an they had just started to the top20. Wasnt till after that show ended that I started 2/8/85.
