Any chance that we could get the 5-26-79 show, where Casey shares the story of how 'Imaginary lover' sped-up, sounded like Stevie Nicks? I'd love for Premiere to give us THAT show. Don't forget also the mistake the research team made on that story saying the lead singer of Atlanta Rhythm Section was Robert Nix. Of course Ronnie Hammond was lead singer of ARS at the time, Robert Nix, drummer. Both members are deceased. I agree though it was an interesting story. I have that show in my collection.

Just listened to Casey make an error while introducing Blondie and "Heart of Glass" at number three on the 4/21/1979 countdown. Casey says the song moves from number eight last week to number five this week, though he really meant to say the song climbed five spots from number eight to three.

Two April 1984 shows are on today's docket: from the 21st and 28th, both with "Against All Odds" by Phil Collins atop the chart.
Early 1984 really is just a continuation of 1983, which was a great year for music. Then, around mid-year, 1984 becomes its own beast, and is virtually un-listenable until late in the year. The summer of 1984 is definitely my least-favorite summer musically in the 1980s.

The summer of '84 is one of my favorite periods for music ever--and I like the fall of that year quite a bit as well. To each their own I guess...

Can't remember if it's that show or the 4/28/79 show, but one of those had an infamous error in which Casey's outcue to the #2 song was omitted. So it goes straight from the end of the #2 song to the intro of the #1 song.

^I don't think that happened during the 4/21 show, so it must be the 4/28.

I'm an easy person with whom to get along. You don't have to agree with me, and we don't have to like the same things. Respect means far more to me than does conformity.

3.26.1988... with the great story about what a classical critic from the New York Times said about the Beatles ahead of Harrison's 'When We Was Fab.'
