***UPDATE*** The station formally branded "The Walrus" 105.7 FM out of San Diego CA is now known as 105.7 Max FM -- Songs That Make You Feel Good! They still feature AT 40, but have switched decades now playing the '80's episodes instead of the '70's shows. All four hours are presented Sunday from 9am - 1pm ET or 6am - 10am local San Diego PT. Relevant Links include: Listen Live: player.streamtheworld.com/_players/broadcastcompany/?callsign=XPRSFMStation Homepage: www.1057maxfm.com/Casey's Countdown Page: www.1057maxfm.com/category/american-top-40/------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Just a reminder that the above station still needs removed from this '70's thread and added to the '80's list.

PLEASE NOTE: This list is meant only as a guideline - there are going to be individual instances of stations starting the show early or late, not airing parts of the show, not airing the correct show, not playing optional extras on a consistent basis, as well as many other instances.
NOTE: Stations outside of the United States may play AT 40 at a different time than listed due to recent time changes. (thanks to poster Marv101 for this suggestion) www.timeanddate.com is a great site for converting time zones. (thanks to poster realitycheck for this time-related information) European time zones start daylight time on the last Sunday in March (usually two weeks later than the U.S.) and end it on the last Sunday in October (one week earlier than the U.S.). The rest of the year has British Time 5 hours ahead and Central European Time 6 hours ahead of U.S. Eastern Time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AMERICAN TOP 40 (The 70's) with Casey KasemDate of Broadcast Time of Broadcast (All times EST - USA) Station Call Letters Station Frequency Link (to listen online) If a station plays Premiere AT 40 Optional ExtrasIf a station does not play AT 40 Optional ExtrasIf a station plays AT 40 - 70s - 4 Hour Edition ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday Noon - 2:30 pm (Start and End times are approximate) WOGL-HD2 - Philadelphia PA Carries AT40 70s Sundays starting at 12pm, commercial free and repeats at least twice at approximately 2:30 and 5pm. Their new listening one is at player.radio.com/listen/station/981-wogl-classic-hits/Also wogl.cbslocal.com/GREAT NEWS trekkielo...THEY'RE BACK! WOGL HD-2 has returned to streaming AT 40 --- at least for this week/Sunday 9/21/14! They are playing the condensed three-hour version of the '80's show from 9/8/84. I don't know if they will be rotating any '70's countdowns into the mix in future weeks. For now, enjoy what we can get with these commercial-free , three-hour only '80's shows. P.S. WOGL HD-1 NEVER stopped airing the show on Saturday from 6 am - 9 am ET. Just like the Sunday shows on sister-station WOGL HD-2, the main station NEVER runs more than three hours of ANY show they play on Saturday morning.

Guys, IYHO's, what's the main excuse PDs give for not giving the listeners the full 4-hour '70s shows, when Premiere offers 'em. Please let me know. Thanx!

Guys, IYHO's, what's the main excuse PDs give for not giving the listeners the full 4-hour '70s shows, when Premiere offers 'em. Please let me know. Thanx! Couple reasons - either they don't have time, reluctant to do so, or it is not offered to them. Hopefully I would like to see a petition to make the first hour mandatory...

I think 'countdown' Mike Eiland of WODC may have said this (maybe someone else) but with the three hour show, affiliates with certain automation computer programs (maybe all clear channel affiliates) don't have to do much of anything to load up the next week's show into the computer. if there is a four hour show, someone at the station has to manually load the show into the computer and move around other programming. if that is the case I think it is a combination of it being much easier to just do three hours and maybe them thinking it doesn't make much of a difference to the casual listener.

Sad to report, KLFM - 92Cool FM - Great Falls MT has ceased operations and gone out of business. They had been featuring AT 40 on Sundays from 7 pm - 10 pm ET / 5 pm - 8 pm local Montana time. They should now be removed from this guide.

1- as for WOGL, some CBS stations make an unfortunate habit of blocking syndicated shows from the streams. My hometown classic rock WNCX airs two of my favorite shows, Time Warp and The Beatle Years. But when im not in Cleveland, I cant stream them on WNCX as the stream is just endless PSAs and ads during the showtimes. Not sure why some CBS stations block their syndicated shows
2- Dave, it has been discussed to death. It will NEVER be mandatory. Some stations have other shows on either end of AT40 and cant do it, many if not most dont wanf to reschedule the master logs when the shows come up, and I believe the extra hour must be "searched" for on the Premiere FTP site- downloading the show as usual just gets you the 3 hours

What about the listeners who DEMAND the 1st hour of the 4-hour shows? They're being GREATLY cheated by their hometown stations!

Are you paying to hear these shows? Demand all you want, stations can do whatever the heck they want. In fact, being demanding is a sure fire way to get them upset.
You want unedited full shows, you can purchase any show you want. Something wrong then, you can demand all you want. But demanding a free service (a radio station) cater to what you want only, is silly.
As for 95% of casual Casey listeners, they dont notice, know the difference, or likely care

Here is a station i couldn't see on the list WRZX-Greenville OH-Big 106.5. It's licenced to Greenville, but has Dayton on everything Their schedule seems to have too many hours for the 70's www.big1065.com/onair/sunday/A tweet on their twitter makes more sense: twitter.com/BIG1065_DaytonBIG 106.5 @big1065_Dayton ยท Sep 20 " Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars" with American Top 40 - The 70's, Sunday morning at 9 on Big 106-5.

If you're in Memphis and weren't hearing Casey this morning, that's because WKQK is no longer a classic hits station. At 6 PM yesterday, WKQK switched to country music. So, WKQK needs to be dropped from this list sadly.

Does anyone have stations in particular that they like in terms of sound quality, good execution of the shows (i.e. doesn't miss segments, play the wrong show, come in late on commercials, etc.), and plays all the extras? It looks like I'm going to need some new streams to tune into starting this weekend...

It looks like I'm going to need some new streams to tune into starting this weekend... WODC is always good in my view because they play everything, including both countdowns on weeks when Premiere offers a choice. Mike Eiland even cuts his own spots interspersed in the show explaining which one is being played and where they are (i.e. "You're listening to an original Casey Kasem American Top 40 countdown from September 9, 1972. We're at #17.")
