Guys, I called and talked to a WOGL DJ Sunday. She didn't know what was up, but had already heard about the change from several other callers. She couldn't believe the switch was permanent, indicating it would be "big news" around the station. So I called the music director when I got home from work today. He told me now that they've incorporated more early '80s' songs into their rotation, they decided to throw an occasional early eighties edition of American Top 40 into the mix. I suggested they play both editions weekly in separate time slots. He said they don't have an available regular time slot for the eighties version of the program and fans of the '70s edition were expecting to hear their show 6-9AM Saturday. I made clear my preference for the seventies show and asked if there was any thinking as to which '70s shows they would preempt for an '80s' alternative ( I was concerned they might be ditching the early seventies shows). He indicated the choice was random, that most weeks they'd run the seventies show with an occasional eighties edition inserted for variety and station branding. He also praised the show, indicated they valued the loyalty of its' listeners and were committed to continue airing AT 40.

WOGL that airs on Sat 6-9AM is the same as WOGL that airs on Sun afternoon continuously. So if anyone is wondering what is going to air on Sun, they can check out the Sat show to find out. BTW, it is 3 hours regardless of which show airs. So 1970-78, late 78-79 or 80s are all 3 hours....either all 3 if 1970-78 or the last 3 if it's late 78 and beyond.

I've been using KCLH as my "plays all extras" station. This weekend they skipped a couple on Saturday, but DID play all three for sure this morning. SO waiting til a lesser commercial load on Sunday might be your best recording option for them.

WLSC - Tiger Radio 1240 AM in Loris SC should be dropped from the list.I haven't heard the show on there for at least 2 months.They certainly can't be pre-empted by sports every week.They have some kind of poetry talk show on at that time.

As I've seen with plenty of stations locally in the northeast, an ownership change only in a few cases results in format change, but may or may not result in personnel changes. Keep an eye on this, guys. dL

WWZW did not air AT40-70s at its scheduled time. There was a lengthy show about dogs (locally produced, it seemed) that came in at 8 am EST. The music that followed wasn't AT40 either. "Undercover Angel" won't be followed by "Fast Car" on any AT40, I suspect.) Recorded via dar.fm.

When waiting for the last 80s rerun of the week on CJFX just now, the DJ said that their airings of AT40 are moving to a "new home". The 70s will be at 1pm local time on Saturdays and no longer on Wednesdays (I don't know if it is previous week or current week play). I had tried to listen to the 70s airing yesterday and it didn't play but I blamed automation

The 80s rerun is moving to the weekend as well but I'll post the info in the 80s thread.
