[ . . . ] the '70's show is streaming on Hits 100 Aruba as I type (#4, "Disco Duck", Rick Dees) -- I'd also checked it shortly after noon Eastern time (#21, "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot); perhaps they started late, as it looks like they'll run past the expected 1:40 pm ET end time... Or just skipped the start -- if #21 was playing a little after noon, they couldn't have started all that late if they were on the second song of the second segment of the second hour shortly after noon, even if they omitted almost all breaks, if my math is right. I get the idea this is a station that is not exactly run like clockwork. Of course, if I were living on an island paradise, I might be less focused on work, too. Heh! Well, they ended up wrapping up at 1:55 pm Eastern time, which would be consistent with an 11:15 am Eastern start, by similar calculations of my own (pro-rating the 3-hour, 35-minute run-time of the four-hour shows yields around 2 hours, 40 minutes for the three-hour shows) -- of course, it could still be true that those umbrella-drink-sipping program directors skipped the first one or two segments as well, particularly if you were tuned in for a decent chunk of time around 11:15 am Eastern... Anyhow, Hits 100 Aruba went straight to "in house" programming after the '70's show, and is still engaged in same, so they're clearly not inclined to follow the '70's show with the '80's show, as I'd speculated might be true on Sunday evenings before it was pointed out to me that the website lists airing times for both series on four different days of the week...

Well, the Hits 100 Aruba saga continues...
Based on tuning into Hits 100 at around 6:15 pm Eastern time and hearing "Hold On" by Santana (#16 on this week's '80's show) and again at around 7:30 pm Eastern (catching #2, "Who Can It Be Now?", Men at Work, and listening through show's end and the beginning of "in house" programming), it looks like they started this week's "AT40: The 80's" show right at 4:00 pm Eastern time...
They seem to be experimenting with the optimal start time (or perhaps goofing off, as Doug Broda speculates!), as they apparently started at 8:00 pm Eastern time on Sunday, October 5th, and the Hits 100 Web site shows the official start time as 5:00 pm on Sundays (presumably local time, which right now translates to 6:00 pm Eastern time)!...
At least they've consistently started the '70's show at or near 11:00 am Eastern time these past three Saturdays (yesterday was more like 11:15 am, and they may have skipped the first segment or two) -- however, while the Hits 100 Web site does say Saturdays at 11:00 am, this is again presumably local time, which would mean they've been firing up the '70's show when their clocks are showing 10:00 am!...
It'll be interesting to see whether 9 pm really means 9 pm this coming Tuesday and Thursday for the week's other two airings!...
(And for what it's worth, although the Hits 100 Web site lists the '80's show as Sunday followed by Thursday, it lists the '70's show as Tuesday followed by Saturday -- does this mean that the Thursday '80's show is an encore, but that the Tuesday '70's show is a sneak preview???...)
EDITS TO ABOVE: Removed commentary based on incorrect assumptions about local time in Aruba -- Aruba actually follows Atlantic Standard Time year-round, which is the same as Eastern Daylight Time when Daylight Saving Time is in effect, and an hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time when Daylight Saving Time is not in effect.

While making corrections to some of my recent posts regarding local time in Aruba, it occurred to me to tune in to Hits 100 Aruba and, lo and behold, they're currently playing an encore of this past weekend's "AT40: The 80's" show from October 16th, 1982 (#35, "Stepping Out" by Joe Jackson, playing at 9:35 pm Eastern time)!...
Looks like "Diahubs" is Wednesday rather than Thursday, in spite of what my out-of-the-box Internet search suggested to me...
So there we have it -- encore presentation of "AT40: The 80s" on Hits 100 Aruba every Wednesday starting at 9 pm Eastern time (will revert to 8 pm Eastern time when Daylight Saving Time ends), following the first broadcast at an apparently-yet-to-be-completely-nailed-down time the previous Sunday afternoon or evening!...

Does anybody know what is going on at WKIX 102,9 North Carolina? The station hasnĀ“t published the last Premiere Cue sheets (this week and week before are missing).

Here's your Hits 100 Aruba update... For the third week in a row, Hits 100 did not start their Sunday presentation of "AT40: The 80's" at 5 pm Eastern time, as their Web site advertises! They were playing the first Premiere Optional Extra for the October 17th, 1987 show ("Shake Your Love", Debbie Gibson) at 4:55 pm Eastern time, suggesting that they started the show at 4 pm ET, not 5 pm!... This matches their start time last Sunday (October 11th); there's a report that the show didn't start until 8 pm Eastern time on Sunday, October 4th... Stay tuned to see whether they actually fire up a show at 5 pm on future Sundays...

Hits 100's Wednesday night replay also skipped the first Hour 4 (#9-8) segment, playing the following segment (#7, LDD, #6) twice instead.

Hits 100 started at 4PM today... however, their automation system started going funky at the end of the third hour (songs/segments ending early, some partially repeating).

KKPR needs a notation (I guess it should go in the 70s and 80s both, but it's more likely to impact 80s. KKPR is now airing play-by-play of the Tri-City Storm (United States Hockey League) and this can cut off the end of the show (and did on 10/25, losing the top 2 songs and the last OE).

OK, so not sure if this is a permanent change (or if the plan is to mix 70s and 80s), but it sounds like KLOU (Oldies 103.3) in St. Louis might have switched to the 80's show. They aired 10/29/83 this weekend, and played all four hours. Not sure if and how many of the OE's they would have played...

Also--one station that I thought had dropped the 80s show, but actually just moved it from Saturday evening to Sunday morning:
WMLX - Mix 103.3 St. Mary's-Lima, OH AT40 - the 80's airs now on Sunday mornings from 9am to 1pm ET
Typically, WMLX plays all of the optional extras, though the 4th hour extra they usually play after the end of the closing credits...
This station should be added back into the list.
