Good grief! Ohio is like radio show central. I remember you saying something about it before, but you didnt give the extensive listing!

Hey, wasn't "Top 40 Countdown" the generic name that WW1 used for CT40 in the weeks after Casey quit in 98, right before AT40 reappeared?

What got me on those shows were the R&D's...letters obviously written to Casey that when aired were addressed to no one.

I dont understand why they kept the show going until AT40 debuted, if they had no plan going forward past then, it seems they could have tried to screw the new AT40 over by not having a show of their own for a month before it debuted.

I would assume it was due to contractual obligations between WW1 and the stations.

I can only assume that AM/FM was letting all these stations know a few months in advance that AT40 with Casey Kasem was coming back, and those stations that had CT40 let WW1 know that they would be dropping CT40 in favor of the new AT40, since they wouldn't be getting the show they had originally bought anymore because Casey was gone. WW1 probably had the desire to remain in the countdown game, but with the huge relaunch of AT40/both versions of AT20 and Rick Dees' show still going strong, they figured their shows would end up suffering the fate of the Shadoe Stevens AT40 and just gave up. I know they had Casey in litigation due to supposed breach of contract well into November of 98, but their suit was deemed without merit and then quietly dropped. Again, just guessing here.

Hey, I just became a "full member". Kind of a variation on a name my ex-wife used to call me!
