Living in UK and fed up with UK stations playing mostly UK only hits. Can anyone recommend US/Canadian Stations which play a good mix of '60's, 70's & 80's music which made the US charts? I've listened to a few which seem to have a limited playlist where records keep getting repeated. Currently enjoying CKWW who seem to have a good mix - any other recommendations? Hopefully not too much news/weather/traffic/ads!

I think Q105 in Tampa does but admittedly even in living here I haven't listened unless I'm at a business airing the station.

Here's an oldies station I can highly recommend:WLNG in Sag Harbor,NY which is on the eastern end of Long Island-They play quite a variety of music ranging from the 50's to the 90's & unlike other so-called oldies stations,WLNG plays a lot of obscure songs-LNG can be heard throughout the world at www.wlng.com.

BBC Radio 2 play a mix of oldies & current M.O.R hits. Saturday 08.00 - 10.00 (03.00 US) the excellent 2 hour 'Sounds of the 60's' with veteran 84 year old DJ Brian Matthews. A mix of chart and rarities of the 1960's. Saturday 13.00 - 15.00 (08.00 US) 'Pick Of The Pops' with two 1hr looks at Top 20's of the past (Feb 23 was 1958 & 1989 (Next week March 2nd 1969 & 1978. Paul Gambaccini's excellent look at the US charts (Current + oldies) is Saturday 20.00 - 22.00 (15.00 US). Catch up on past shows on their iplayer www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/programmes/a-z/by/p/currentSmooth Radio have a good mixture of oldies & Smooth 70's play only 1970's music. Absolute 80's cover just that decade. www.smoothradio.co.uk/music/smooth-radio-70s/casey-kasems-american-top-40-the-70s/7a212?comment-display=20absolute80s.com/Capital Gold also a great oldies sation absolute80s.com/Enjoy!

I also like Johnnie Walker’s Sound of the 70s on Radio 2 (Sunday 3pm British time or 10am ET/7am PT) www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00jlwqdAnd on the same station although Steven Wright plays much megahits on his Sunday Love Songs, his weekday shows include some lesser known past UK (as well as American) chart titles mixed with a few current hits. Other recommendation for the US music from the 70s/80s : On the subject of lost/forgotten songs that were big in their heyday, but aren't played as much anymore, in the US Charlie tuna’s 70s weekend syndicated show currently plays rather forgotten songs from the era. I have heard previously the likes of ‘Chicago’ by Kiki Dee, ‘Come In From the Rain’ by Captain and Tennile and ‘You Are on My Mind’ by Chicago. Other Syndi. Show “The Lost45” rarely goes nowadays outside of the Top 40, unless they have a special, like the recent lost45 soul show with a number of songs that didn’t make the pop top 40. (Its Flagship Boston station:WROR Sundays:7pm-10pm local Eastern Time) is on the following site www.wror.com/In other places: Restored radio shows that plays the charts hits “as it happened” like Classic AT40s or Rick Dees’ weekly top 40. (The only other restored show that I’m aware of is the Wolfman Jack show, unless somebody knows others…) Moreover there is a difference between Canadian and US stations that’s largely unknown outside of Canada. Canadian stations have a mandate by the regulator CRTC to play a certain amount of Canadian-Content songs since the early 1970s. This nationally-content requirement doesn’t exist in the US (and I doubt it does in the UK either). Moreover the Canadian-content threshold might not be as high for the CKWW; The Windsor, ON station serves the Detroit area as well. More on Canadian content and specifically MAPL rules at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_contentShowman, Years ago I used to listen to Simon Mayo’s excellent UK album chart show on Mondays on Radio 2 online? Do you know if an exclusive Album-chart-only is being broadcast on the UK radio nowadays at all?

I'm not aware of a UK Album chart show but I'll do some digging around and if I find anything I'll post it.
