A new hit: Doja Cat's "Get Into It (Yuh)" says "Call him Ed Sheeran, he in love with my body"--an allusion to Ed's hit "Shape of You".

There is another song that mentions Bob Dylan. “Mr. Jones” by Counting Crows also does. Their song “Round Here” mentions Elvis as well.
Speaking of Elvis, he is definitely mentioned in “Walking in Memphis” by Marc Cohn. “Black Velvet” by Alannah Myles is based on Elvis.
U2 is inadvertently mentioned in “We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel, though it’s not a reference to the band.
I don’t think “Surrender” by Cheap Trick made AT40, but it mentions Kiss.
And who can forget Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger” too.

This isn't an AT40 hit, yet...but the new Cheat Codes hit (they've hit AT40 before) with country artist Russell Dickerson mentions Third Eye Blind.

I don’t think “Surrender” by Cheap Trick made AT40, but it mentions Kiss. You're correct. While it was the first song by the band that many, including myself, had heard--it prompted me to buy the "In Color" LP--it only reached #62 around Labor Day of 1978.
