WXXM Rewind 92.1 FM Madison, Wisconsin went all Christmas music Friday afternoon, so get ready for 8 weeks of AT40 Christmas shows weekend mornings. I wonder if Milwaukee, Wisconsin has its own all Christmas music station format like Chicago (WLIT) and Madison, Wisconsin (WXXM Rewind 02.1 FM) does? WRIT and WMYX in Milwaukee were always in competition to be the first to flip. At one time they flipped on Halloween, but lately they have been more reasonable. Now, WRIT usually goes all-Christmas shortly before Thanksgiving. I haven't heard anything yet about this year. At any rate, when that happens, I stop listening until after Christmas. Which one - WRIT or WMYX - has the rights to AT40: The 70's and/or AT40: The 80's for the Milwaukee radio market?

I never listen to the 3-hour 80s shows.

Numerous I Heart Radio Stations have made the flip to all Xmas, and will stay that way until 12:01 am 12/26 in their time zone. Thus, you won't hear AT40 the 70s or AT40 the 80s for the next 8 weekends (including this one) on your local station for 2 months. Thankfully, with streaming you can still pick up AT40v the 70s/80s from a station outside your local area.
There are 8 Casey Kasem Holiday theme show for those stations available for the 2 months on those stations. I don't have the exact date which Casey Holiday show will air.
1. AT40 All Time Top 40 Christmas Countdown. Originally from Christmas 1970 and replayed in 1975. The Larry Morgan extras are the song Casey and AT40 could not find in 1970.
2. AT20 Top 30 Christmas Songs Countdown from 2001. in 2003 the show had a few songs in the countdown changed but mostly everything is the same. The 2003 modified version airs today.
3. AT10 Christmas Special from 2004. No Countdown. Just a 3 hour show with Christmas music and Casey stories about Christmas. Edited in 2005 to fit the current format clock of the show. The past few years Premiere has not offered this show.
4. AT10 Christmas Special from 2004. No Countdown. Just a 3 hour show with Christmas music. Casey tells stories how Christmas is spent around the world. Edited in 2005 for current format clock. Premiere has aired this show the last few years.
5. Another AT10 Christmas Special from 2004. No Countdown. Just a 3 hour show with Christmas music. Casey tells stories how Christmas is spent around the world. Similar to #4 show on this list. Just different songs and stories.
6. AT10 Top 60 Christmas Countdown Part One from 2004. Songs 60 to 31. Edited in 2005 to fit the current format clock. Premiere has continued to air this show over the years.
7. AT10 Top 60 Christmas Countdown Part Two from 2004. Songs 30 to 1. Edited in 2005 to fit the current format clock. Premiere has continued to air this show over the years.
8. AT10 Christmas Special - "Christmas at the Movies" from 2005. No Countdown. Casey plays clips from holiday theme movies and tv shows. Premiere continued air this show.
In 2005 there was a 5th extra AT10 shows. However, the 5th show Premiere just took different segments of the 3 different AT10 show and made a show of itself.

1. AT40 All Time Top 40 Christmas Countdown. Originally from Christmas 1970 and replayed in 1975. The Larry Morgan extras are the song Casey and AT40 could not find in 1970. Actually the first AT40 All Time Christmas Countdown aired in December 1971, with a second, revised one in 1973. Premiere plays them both, and the songs that AT40 couldn't find in the early 1970s aren't optional extras, but added into the original show with reconstructed Casey intros which make it sound as if they were always there.

Your are right! I mixed up the the first AT40 in 1970 that was replayed in 1975.

WNIC did air the AT10 Christmas at Movies show today. This time it was a reformatted show done my Ken Martin. Larry Morgan mentions Ken Martin remastered this show at the beginning and at the end.
Most of the songs from the original airing were about 75% the same in the show. However, some of the Xmas music titles had a different artist/version played. A few songs were replaced. The Casey liners are from other AT10 Christmas shows were used for the songs that were changed.
Numerous AT10 Jingles from their regular shows were used as the show when going to commercial and back from break. The Top of the hour was another AT10 jingle, but not the one used normally from the AT10 show. At the end when Casey closed out the show, the background music was the regular AT10 closing theme instead of the sleigh ride theme.
Ken Martin did a terrific job on this remastered AT10 Christmas show.

Ken's probably already dusting off and oiling the WTOJ cash registers getting ready for the busy Xmas rush and all that Christmas ca$h rolling in.
When does it start? Weekend of Oct 31?? Or do they wait another week?? The weekends of potential Supersizing, at least for 2024 are running low.

Last year it was the 11/4-5 weekend, although the year before they held out for the 11/12-13 weekend. Like Mariah unthawing, Premiere will likely hold out until all the trick-or-treaters are done with their candy-collecting rounds.

I'm listening to WTOJ and they have a countdown for when they'll be switching to Christmas; it's 18 days from now which would be November 6th.

Some stations might flip to all Xmas by the November 2-3 weekend. However, radio stations still easily collection money from those annoying political advertising. After the November 5th election, those station will not have that revenue. Thus, those stations will go after retail advertising. Thus, the all Xmas flip will be done after the election.
