None of the Christmas programs repeated last year. Well I think one year a show repeated twice in the same season.

I can't speak towards previous years schedules, but the main reason I heard the same specials twice in a single season was because my local affiliate(s) run both the 70s and 80s shows, so in order to fill two 3-4 hour blocks each weekend for 6 or 7 weeks, they would run specials twice.

I guess KLOU will play the '72 show this week. Because today they aired a promo for it. I'm more surprised that they aired a promo for the show because it always seemed they never wanted to promote it.

CKRU and CKWS held onto a few of the specials last year until they went all Christmas and then started to air two different programs each week. Unfortunately, they have since dropped the Casey programs.

To those who think Christmas music, and other aspects of the holiday, come too early perhaps you can identify with the spots WQSR is running for the BAAPC (Baltimore Advocates Against Premature Christmas).

What?! Is this a legit group or radio spots promoting the station and taking s swipe at local stations that have flipped?

It appears to be mostly the latter, but they are tapping into the frustrations of those of us who think one month is enough time to hear the same Christmas songs and see the same Christmas TV shows and displays again and again: www.1027jackfm.com/articles/baapc-480098/baltimore-advocates-against-premature-christmas-11820489/WQSR, for its part, doesn't go all-Christmas until Christmas Day, if then, and has never preempted AT40 for holiday music.

WNSN (80s Sunday mornings) South Bend is providing mixed signals as to whether they're taking the plunge.
There's a Santa picture next to the links to their audio, video, and F___book feeds.
Buuuut, the songs-just-played list (which is several songs AHEAD of the audio!) is non-holiday...
Edit: KOKZ (80s Sunday middays) Waterloo, Iowa has a link to a separate holiday-music feed on their website.

The one thing I have learned though is that on more than one occasion when a station attacks the format of another, it isn't long before they themselves take it on too. I don't mean it'll happen this year but just something I've seen over the years.

Good news if true, especially as IIRC there's a four hour December 1978 countdown coming up soon.

I forgot to note that they are using "Your Christmas Station" jingles. EDIT: It's over, Johnny. They switched. But, they still have the "we'll alert you when _____ by _____ will be played" app on the main page... dL
