The AT40 ending was another "five seconder" this weekend, although the background theme did kick on. After outroing the # 1 song by Adele, Ryan simply said something along the lines of "there's our show, keep in touch" and that was that. No mention of Premiere Radio Networks, no mention of what is coming up next week, no mention of the website, nothing...

Little confused about this weekends show. Seacrest states Usher (Scream) ties a 48 year old record with the Beatles, (Can't Buy Me Love)as the biggest climber in the countdown what chart is he using to make that claim.

I dont have anything in front of me to say for sure but I'd assume he's going by AT40 history which would be using Billboard back that far.

He's using R&R/Mediabase. Cuz obviously MJ had the biggest leap in history with "Black or White" which jumped from 35 to 2 on AT40 With Shadoe Stevens. Of course this leap comes with an "*", as it happened the week AT40 switched from the Hot100 to the radio monitor. The are other examples of larger (than 25) leaps on Billboard so clearly Ryan is/has been using R&R/mediabase

As far as I've seen, AT40 uses Billboard then Casey's Top 40/Revived AT40 for past chart facts.

As far as I've seen, AT40 uses Billboard then Casey's Top 40/Revived AT40 for past chart facts. AT40 today uses Radio & Records for chart facts from fall 1973 (when R&R began) up through 2003; from 2004-present (Seacrest as host) I believe he uses the MB data which he actually counted down, which doesn't always match R&R or MB's published charts. Earlier data comes from Billboard, including this week's citation of "Can't Buy Me Love", which jumped 27-1 on 4/4/64.

I had AT40 play on my digital cable box last weekend, and if I heard correctly, the same shortened closing spiel may have been used again. This is why I prefer AT40: The 80's more than current AT40 nowadays. Casey Kasem took better care of AT40 when he hosted. Shadoe didn't do that bad, though, but the music during most of Shadoe's tenure was awful to begin with. After 1991, my taste of music was so low until it rebounded significantly in 2002.

Digital cable box? How do you get the show through that? Depends on the cable provider. Bell Aliant (the provider I have) has streaming radio from other radio stations across Canada. It also picks up 99.1 HITS-FM - my local AT40 provider - and I can listen to radio on my TV. Some cable providers do pick up feeds from the city anyone lives in or other cities in Canada or the U.S. It just won't pick up U.S. radio stations where I live.

I know FIOS here has Iheartradio on it but Directv which I have has some Sonic Tap crap....it makes me pine for Music Choice.

Even within AT40 canon, the Beatles NEVER held this record nor were they the last act to make this kind of seismic chart move. This record was set in late 1960 when Elvis Presley took "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" from 35 to 2. And it appears many forgot at least three 27-point bolts: "This Diamond Ring" by Gary Lewis & the Playboys, 34 - 7, January 1965. "In the Year 2525" by Zager & Evans, 35 - 8, July 1969. Donny Osmond's remake of "Puppy Love," 38 - 11, March 1972. As far as the leap of Michael Jackson's "Black or White," its official chart move on the Hot 100 was from 35 to 3. In many case, it appears Seacrest and staff have not been doing their homework.

From today AT40 shows have a new intro of show.
Also, Bob Kingsley´s CT40 has changed the theme and the musical intros and outros, it is curious that they have done that the same week AT40 did the same.
