Because of the first weekend of November 20024 being 11/2/1985, here's my revived thing of predictions for the rest of the November-December 2024 AT40 standalones paired with Christmas B shows: Without spoiling the suspense -- and therefore your fun -- I will advise that you got only one 100% right, although you did guess two others but for the wrong weekends. (BTW, you also list the first three weekends with Sunday/Monday dates, although you did correct yourself as November passes into December.)
I figure that by saying so now, you can have the pleasure of revising your revised predictions. If you are open to a hint, Premiere only schedules each year once in the eight weeks from the start of November until the year-end countdown.
Just fixed the dates for the first three anyway.

What about the AT40 2.0 shows? Obviously they are available since some have been played during holiday weekends. Is the reason they are not aired on a weekly basis have something to do with that period of time not being as popular as the 80s? Also what about the Ryan Seacrest shows. I assume they are available to air with no legal issues. Is popularity the issue there as well? I can't answer for Premiere definitively, but when Casey came back and sold the old shows and the AT40 name to Premiere, it's obvious (to me, anyway) that the agreement included the right to syndicate any AT40s that he hosted in the future. Hence the occasional shows from 1998 until his retirement in 2009 turning up as "bonus" shows. So my best guess is that your presumption is correct, Duke. It's only been in recent years that Classic Hits stations have ventured into adding 90s titles, and many of those that have done so have been cautious about which ones have universal appeal. This is actually a dilemma for programmers; since CHR (top-40) splintered into sub-genres starting in the late 1980s, whether or not a specific song is still playable is dependent on which "flavor" of CHR the audience listened to when those were currents. For example, those CHRs that went more Urban in the 90s nurtured an audience that would find the more Pop titles from the decade not to their liking. (And vice versa!) So, since AT40 was essentially trying to cover all the bases, the chart by necessity covering all subgenres, it's questionable as to whether or not those shows are ever going to attract enough affiliates for Premiere to even attempt to syndicate them. I would imagine that whatever agreement Seacrest signed to host AT40 after Casey's retirement included a clause allowing for the syndication of any shows he hosted to be similarly offered. The only question, again, is whether there's a market for it among the stations.
Thanks for your reply. So based on various factors such as top 40/CHR radio programming, the splintering or not of genres and intuitionally(is that a word?!), the popularity or not of countdowns, the mid 80s is the sweet spot for rebroadcasts of shows.

Are we confirmed we’re getting 81 this week? Haven’t seen the post with the extras Those of you that listen to stations other than KRKE (or, I presume, KOSF) will. We'll be running 1983.

You're most welcome, and I think that your presumption above is correct, based on my own experience (which includes monitoring the airplay of other Classic Hits stations). I won't air shows older than mid-1982 and there has to be other stations with the same policy, or Premiere wouldn't be giving us the option. Their own CH station in market #4 (San Francisco, KOSF) has also shifted to "B" shows when offered.
And if "intuitionally" isn't a word, it should be.

There are two stations that I listen to that air the show before the weekend. WSQL out of Brevard,North Carolina airs the 70's show on Thursday night and WWIS out of Black River Falls,Wisconsin airs the 80'show on Friday afternoon. That's the reasoning I believe for the OP's thinking. I hope, for their sake, that those two stations have Premiere's approval. I would prefer not to see stations tossed aside over contractual differences.

You're getting closer.
You even got the year right for one but were a week off as to which show.

There's never been a reason for the deliberately misdating other than OPs own personal branding purposes. Welcome aboard, KM.
Thank you as well for the greeting. The other post about the stations that do not adhere to the usual Premiere scheduling requirements (which I hope are not going to ultimately cause problems for them) certainly would seem to apply to his reasoning.
Still, it throws me off to see a "weekend" start with a Thursday date since part of my job is to create weekend programming for KRKE.

I would prefer not to see stations tossed aside over contractual differences. Considering how frequently those stations are cited here on this board (monitored by some/many of those involved in the production of the show throughout the years), I'd guess they have the approval. As an example, noting how you aren't allowed to release the entire-year schedule for the series, about 12 years ago there was an incident on this very board where someone posted that schedule here. It was swiftly taken down after one of the aforementioned Premiere-connected people here caught wind of it's publication. Around that same time TPTB started cracking down on the file-sharing going on, eBay sales, even random 'online radio stations' that were broadcasting illicit AT40 shows not approved through Premiere. This board, the Pulse Music Board Classic At40 thread and the various Facebook AT40 groups tend to have a few of the folks with Premiere in their ranks, and usually keep things reigned in.

I'm glad to hear that those who won't play by the rules are caught. As I said originally, I respect proprietary information and know when the timing is appropriate to release specific information (roughly about two weeks out, since Premiere can't expect stations to NOT promote the show) and when I can refer to that information to give a more vague but accurate answer.
That said, I am rather enjoying helping dth1971 with his predictions, even when I am still having to stay in "vague" mode.
