Somebody at Premiere must not like Debbie Gibson. By not featuring 1987 as an "A" show from 6/20/87 to this week's 10/17/87 show, Premere skipped over Debbie's entire 16 week run of "Only In My Dreams" on AT40! And... by featuring 10/17/87, it's the week that "Only In My Dreams" falls out of the Top 40 while "Shake Your Love" is one week away from being featured on AT40. Hmmmmm... This might demand an AT40 Investigation ... For those of you anxious to know when the next '87 show might be featured, I say try not to worry about it... and when you least expect it, we'll hear an '87 show with Debbie Gibson in it out of the blue... I think I better stick with my day job... There's also early to mid 1998 (end of Casey's original AT40 run before Shadoe Stevens took Casey's place) for Debbie Gibson on AT40, you know. Don't even expect if Premiere ever launches "American Top 40: The Shadoe Stevens Years" that might feature for an occassional holiday weekend bonus show the Shadoe AT40 episode with Debbie Gibson guest hosting for Shadoe on AT40 6/25/1989.

With the lineup for October 2024 AT40: The 80's shows complete, these are my guesses for the November-December 2024 AT40: The 80's standalones paired with Christmas B shows: November 2-3, 2024: November 3, 1984 (last played in 2018) November 10-11, 2024: November 8, 1986 (last played when?) November 17-18, 2024: November 21, 1987 (last played when?) November 24-25, 2024: November 27, 1982 (last played in 2014) November 30-December 1, 2024: November 30, 1985 (last played in 2017) December 7-8, 2024: December 6, 1980 (last played in 2017) December 14-15, 2024: December 19, 1981 (last played in 2016) December 21-22, 2024: December 24, 1983 (last played in 2018) AND FOR THE YEAR ENDER for the last weekend of December 2024 and the first weekend of January 2025: The Top 100 of 1982 (A show) and the Top 100 of 1985 (B show) 11/8/86 and 11/21/87 were both last played in 2020. Your schedule has an awful long gap in 1983 standalones: none from August until the last (regular) weekend of the year. 12/24/83 was last played in 2018, but they could air something from that year in November and then play that as well. I was thinking that 1987 might be the best contender for the year end show; it's only been the A once (2012), and the long gaps between shows from that year in 2024 (January, April, June, and now mid-October) might point toward that. Of course they might not, especially if we get regular 1987 countdowns in November and/or December.

Of course, this could also be an order from Premiere not to announce the chosen show too early. Or not. KOLA is telling us that October 24, 1981 in on tap for the following weekend (October 25-27). Then it was probably an update to the homepage that caused the short delay.

Weekend of 10/17... 10/17/87!!! www.charismusicgroup.com/Cue%20Sheets/1987-1017.pdfLast played 2020 w/extras! Hour #1: "Shake Your Love" - Debbie Gibson Hour #2: "Catch Me (I'm Falling)" - Pretty Poison Hour #3: "Just Like Heaven" - The Cure Hour #4: "Faith" - George Michael These will all be replayed. This is the only way we’ll hear “Just Like Heaven” from Premiere, as the only week it was on AT40 (January 9, 1988) was guest hosted. In retrospect it feels much bigger than its #40 peak.

I know it was a long shot but I was really hoping for the 10/31/87 show. Oh well, maybe next year.

I'm also leaning towards the '87 Year ender this year, stand alone, based on the lack of '87 weekly surveys which is usually the tell. However perhaps its just me hoping its true.

^Also the only week that "A Little Less Conversation" was played in 2002, Ed McMann was filling in for Casey.
