The weekend of September 30th, Casey will feature the Chart Date: September 29, 1984. This means that the next 1982 show will likely be October 16th (the 2nd was guest hosted and the 9th aired in 2021).

Some 1983 notes: Three biggest #1 hit after died: otis redding, janis joplin, and jim croce. Snippet played sitting on dock of bay, me and Bobby McGee, time in a bottle It's hard to believe that Jim Croce has been dead for 50 years. Fortunately, like so many other artists gone too soon, he left a bank of great material to continue his legacy. The October 20, 1973 AT40 show had Casey giving a Jim Croce tribute.

(Post 1987, would "Macarena" by Los Del Rio from the mid 1990's count?)

And Casey did add that the song contains a spoken-word section in English.

However, the AT40/pop hit version with Justin Bieber may have too many English lyrics to qualify.

And "Here I Go Again" had a lead in story of Whitesnake singer Dave Coverdale having lost his voice before recording their then-current album and fearing he wouldn't sing again. (HIGA was played in its remixed single version, which I think it always was on AT40). And "It's a Sin" was led into with a story listing the Seven Deadly Sins.

The Wall was from 1979.

Wk away top 40, brilliant disguise Larry morgan intros: 1 adult contemp didn't we almost have it all, 1 album sales fleetwood mac, 1 album? Pink floyd the wall? Yes, I know I screwed up the quote's author here--sorry. On the 9/26/87 Top 200 LP chart, the #1 album was Michael Jackson's "Bad". It debuted at that position.

But “Learning to Fly”, from Lapse, was #1 on the AOR tracks chart, which Larry noted in the optional extra segment leading into “Brilliant Disguise” (which later did the same), which I think kani’s post was trying to convey. Casey of course noted the #1 debut of Bad leading into the #1 song, which was from an album that accomplished the same then-rare feat three months earlier.

As much as I don't want it to be, I predict 10/4/1980 for the weekend of October 7th/8th (with 10/5/1985 as the "B").
