When I first heard "Baby Love",it sounded like Madonna. It was actually offered to Madonna and she turned it down. Regina’s version appears to have been mixed and produced to make her sound like Madonna, which is a lot of why it became a top 10 hit. I mean, who didn’t assume it was Madonna when they first heard “Baby Love” back in 1986?

When I first heard "Baby Love",it sounded like Madonna. There's certainly Madonna connections to the song; it was originally intended for her, but she passed on it. Stephen Bray is one of the writers, who also wrote several of Madonna's hits. Casey Kasem said "Co-written and produced by Stephen Bray who also works with Madonna" in the 1986 Top 100 countdown after "Baby Love" was played at #85.

On the 7/12/86-show, both Falco and the Rolling Stones fall out of the Top 40:
But the Stones are more present than ever, having given a concert at Vienna´s Ernst Happel Stadium last Friday: And the sausage stand at the Albertina in Vienna - directly behind the Vienna State Opera - has had an extremely prominent guest - the green hare on the roof of this sausage stand is reminiscent of the work "Feldhase" ("Young Hare") by Albrecht Dürer, which is located in the nearby Albertina: The night before the concert at Ernst Happel Stadium, Mick Jagger stopped by for a "Falco" beer. The other guests didn´t recognize him. "It was the best moment, I was shaking a little bit. I wasn´t sure at first because he had a cap on. But then when he took a sip of beer, I saw the face, then it was clear," said vendor Hakan Zarali. With his second beer, Jagger then took photos at the nearby Albrechtsbrunnen fountain - in total, he and a friend spent half an hour at the sausage stand. "We didn´t really want to bother him that much," Zarali said. The photos Jagger shared on social media also show two other guests. They did not recognize the star. "We were so engrossed in our conversation," Stefan Kuerzel and Jochen Kaluza-Praschl said in an interview. "It´s a funny situation that life has given us there. Would have been cool, of course, if he had come here," they said - "but they want to be left alone and have their privacy anyway." Shortly before the show, fans were able to catch a glimpse in front of the Hotel Imperial. In the afternoon, the Rolling Stones frontman came out of the Hotel Imperial, where he is staying. Numerous fans had already posted themselves there. Mick took off his sunglasses, waved and got into his waiting car.

WRTH is playing 7-17-1999. Presumably it began at 7:00am, i'm not sure, i catched the program when they were playing the first optional extra, "You're Still The One" by Shania Twain, one of the "America's Top Hits" originally included. Now they're playing Hour 2.

I have these America's Top Hits as being played when WPNC played this in 2020: Shania Twain - "You're Still the One" Heart - "Alone" Donna Lewis - "I Love You Always Forever" Love & Rockets - "So Alive" For this one as well as the 2000 and 2001 shows they played, they only played 4 out of the 5 America's Top Hits - here, "The Freshmen" by The Verve Pipe was the one left out for whatever reason. Which brings me to my question. Did WRTH play this more or less the same as WPNC did, or were there different extras? Presumably, if say this were a Premiere production and offering, then Heart and Love & Rockets would be left out, The Verve Pipe would be put back in, and the remaining extra slot would go to something else.

Does anyone remember the date of the other show where Casey told the George Michael "ugly duckling" story? I think it was in 1985 (before leading into Freedom) or 1988 when Father Figure was on the charts.

If he did retell that story, did he include the part where George laments "I didn't stand much of a chance with girls" and "if you follow the fan magazines, you'll probably know that George Michael has dated Brooke Shields"? ROFL Brooke sure had quite the track record, didn't she?

Not one song on 7/12/86 was in the same position as the week before. That doesn't happen very often. Same thing for this weekend’s Rick Dees show from October 15-16, 1988.

Prediction for next show:
8/1/81
With so few eligible July shows it wouldn't be surprising if Premiere reached into the month of August this last week of July; so I'll go with this one last played by itself in 2013.
