Just checked all three stations and they are running regular programming. WFMX ended at 9:00am, WGRK and WTKU ended at 10:00am. You posted after those times. Wups, my bad - I figured the shows had started not long before.

And now WXXM goes from #4 Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard, commercial break, the Monkey/George Michael OE, then back to #13 Lost In You by Rod Stewart. Someones asleep at the (automation) switch at WXXM. That error pops up every time they start the Saturday night airing with Hour 2.

When Casey told the story about Boz Scaggs which led into "Jojo",he was described as a chameleon because he kept changing into different outfits on stage.

KOSF started 1988 at 10:59am (EDT). Thanks for mentioning this. Tuned in about halfway through Love Will Save The Day (#40).

No, that was July 16 (where "Sweet Child O' Mine" was also an extra; it was there that he was mentioned). Mentioned by Larry Morgan, that is? Because IIRC Casey never gave any on-air indication that he was leaving, not even in the 8/6/88 show. Same thing in the 1/3/04 show I heard from WPNC last night, or in the 1998 CT40s, or in any countdown other than his last ever AC shows in 2009. Yes I was speaking of Larry's mention. Bizarre how two shows in back to back weeks had the same extra choice.

To go with my post in the '70s thread about 102.7 The Wolf in Santa Rosa CA bumping AT40 to an earlier slot on Saturday morning; the '80s version is not airing in its usual Sun afternoon slot, so they either moved it or dropped it.

Bizarre how two shows in back to back weeks had the same extra choice. Not really - they could even be lazy when they felt like it: April 23 and April 30 had three out of the same four extras, the only change being "Nothin' But a Good Time" replaced "We All Sleep Alone", which went to the countdown on 4/30. The other three: "Circle in the Sand", "The Flame", and "Pour Some Sugar on Me". As for July 9 versus July 16 - Tracy Chapman, George Michael, and Robert Palmer were the three that went to the countdown on 7/16, leaving GNR as the one who didn't.

Prediction for next show:
7/23/83
Not many eligible shows for this week but this is one of them; that and the 2 month gap since the last 1983 standalone makes it the front runner.

Interestingly, that A show (July 4, 1987) was repeated as a standalone in 2021, an exception to the usual Premiere pattern of waiting at least three years before replaying an A or standalone (except maybe as a B.) Remember how once upon a time there was all that debate as to whether or not 7/4/87 was a playable show, etc.? Now it's been aired...4 times in all?

I think it took a while, for whatever reason, to get it fully remastered and in suitable condition for current mass-market replay. It's been played three times, in 2015, 2019, and 2021, each time as an A or standalone.

Why was the show considered by some to not be playable?
