Just like last week's show, 10/20/1984 has several double-digit droppers.

"Hell Is For Children" was played as an LDD on this week's presentation from 10/20/84-I'm surprised Chrysalis Records didn't release it as a single-In any event, the only song about child abuse to reach the Billboard "Hot 100" was "Luka" by Suzanne Vega in 1987.

Casey answered a QL (Question Letter) about the biggest selling comedy album of all time-That turned out to be "The First Family" which spoofed the administration of John F.Kennedy-I remember listening to that album when I was a child-It was hilarious!

You might be able to get away with it nowadays, but in 1984 (with, among other things, the PMRC raging over the "Filthy Fifteen" and headed for its apex on that score)? Not on your life.

Another obvious assumption would be that sales tanked after November 22, 1963.

Pat caught a lot of flack for just the title of that song, yet those critics failed to actually listen to lyrics to the song. Could this be the only idiotic reason why she is still not in the RRHOF? These are the same people that listened to Queen backwards and came up with "It's Fun To Smoke Marijuana".

Just because of that one song? I doubt it - it hasn't had a "controversial" legacy that has endured all the way to now like, say, "Rock Me Tonite" continues to be thought of today as being the song whose video killed Billy Squier's career.

In addition to the story "False Teeth": Titanium implants can really be an antenna for electromagnetic fields.
And if not Linda Ronstadt, but for example Charlene´s "I’ve Never Been To Me" had been received as music back then ...

The B-side from "Love Is A Battlefield" includes a live version (6 minutes) of "Hell Is For Children" - beside an extended and an instrumental version of "Love Is A Battlefield" (Chrysalis VS4 42732).

In total agreement although I have to think we’re going to get November 77 within the next month.. and if any truly detestable song would be heard via space it would be this one

And if not Linda Ronstadt, but for example Charlene´s "I’ve Never Been To Me" had been received as music back then ... I've always thought they should have made a video for "I've Never Been To Me" and made it a literal interpretation of song. It starts off with some woman standing in a park or some other public place when Charlene walks up to her, "Hey lady, you lady...." and starts telling her this sob story of her life. The woman looks around trying to figure out what is happening then looks at her watch and says "I, I, I have to go" and starts to walk away (quickly) but Charlene runs up to her "Please lady, please lady, don't just walk away..." and the story continues. The woman is now VERY eager to get away from this whack job on the street when Charlene begins her speech "Hey you know what paradise is?" As Charlene wraps up her speech the woman is pulling away then Charlene belts out the rest of the song. The woman is now running down the road clutching her baby in her arms. The song fades to a close as we see Charlene approach another woman "Hey lady, you lady...." and the cycle begins again!!!!!

Ah,the PMRC!-If I'm not mistaken Tipper Gore, the wife of former vice president Al Gore, caught an earful of a Prince song that her daughter was listening to on her stereo-I believe the song was "Darling Nikki" from the "Purple Rain" soundtrack-She thought the song was rather filthy & decided something should be done-That's why going forward, all albums/CD's have warning stickers alerting folks of lyrical content that some might deem to be offensive.
