I'm joining the 5/17/82 countdown in progress-I'm pretty sure I heard it on WNBC in NYC-They were an "AT40" affiliate at the time.

Mark Elliott was quite adept at filling in for Casey.

How does anybody live in Watertown? It's mid 40s right now. Holy bleep! The calendar reads May 8th, not Jan 8th. I'm listening to May 7, 1988 on KZQL in Casper, WY and it's only 31 degrees!

WTIC is in hour 2 of the 3-hr version of 7/17/82. KONO aired '88, only it is 2/20/88.

I'll go ahead and predict 5/23/87 for the week of May 22 since, well, last aired in 2010 and at 2+ months since the last standalone 1987 is ripe for another spin about now. 5/24/80 is another less likely candidate (it's been almost 3 months since the last 'A' from that year) but we shall find out tomorrow when KOLA posts it to their website.

Well, we can count out WSYN, as they're playing the 1988 show. Ditto WJER How about KTLF?

This week's 5-17-86 show features a debut song in John Cougar Mellencamp's "Rain On The Scarecrow" that was also a LDD. Was there any other time in AT40/CT40 history that a debut song was also a LDD/R&D for that week? Were there any dedication songs that would hit the Top 40 in later weeks?

Yikes, that Gloria Estefan quote about touring was rather chilling in hindsight knowing what happened two years later. I wonder if either Casey or the AT 40 staff later regretted using it. Nevertheless, always nice to hear the bilingual version of Anything For You.

In 1992, a track from Michael Jackson's "Dangerous" CD called "Heal the World" was played as a LDD though that song didn't make the AT40 chart until a year later in 1993.

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 5/23/87 2nd Guess - 5/24/80
1987 seems like a near lock. This show hasn't seen the light of day in 11 years, and 1987 hasn't had an 'A' show airing since mid-March. 1980 is overdue as well--hasn't been played at all since the last weekend in February.

Man that was a terrible song--MJ's "jump the shark" moment. As I recall, he didn't have too many hits after that one.
