Westwood One folded into Entercom, I think. Ah, no - actually, they merged with Dial Global in August 2011. Dial Global, in turn, renamed themselves as Westwood One in advance of being acquired by Cumulus in the Fall of 2013. That, in turn, is the "Westwood One" that currently operates today.

Now THAT'S attention to detail, Ken! And this story is described in detail in my 70s book. mga707, you're welcome. I sent WTOJ a text hoping to win your book, Pete! do you know how many they are giving away?

I've got 4 copies to give away courtesy of Pete. 2 of the 70's and 2 of the 80's. I'll do the drawing on Monday. If you don't win and you don't have these books already I highly recommend the purchase. They are an invaluable resource and a MUST for me and the recreation work I do.

Premiere optional extras for 7/16/88 in 2016 were: "Knocked Out" - Paula Abdul "Sweet Child O' Mine" - Guns 'n Roses "Please Don't Go Girl" - New Kids On The Block "I Know You're Out There Somewhere" - The Moody Blues
I'll go with: "Perfect World" "Sweet Child O' Mine" "Please Don't Go Girl" "I Know You're Out There Somewhere"

And again this time, I'm guessing.

Anyone else listening to the Y2K special show on WTOJ right now? Major technical issue... Guess I'm the only one currently listening online--speed dropped way, w-a-y, w---a---y down. Someone call Ken and wake him up!

You mean the Y2K show? That would be great (as I've already heard the Triathlon special this week). If you can't do the Y2K show again, all I need to know is the second and third story in the fourth hour were. (Unless mga707 was spot-on in his last comment). Just to make my commentary about it complete Yes, WTOJ will rebroadcast the Y2K special Sunday night at 10 PM eastern. You can listen here. Or with your smart device. "Alexa, play WTOJ." Hi Ken,
as "mga707" in the post above already mentioned the "y2k special" unfortunatly had some major stream mistakes (speed between the segments dropped drasticly down). I already realized it on the first broadcast on saturday, that I recorded. It would be great, if you could find a way to rebroadcast the show in the near future and give a short information about the broadcast time hear on the board!!?
Nevertheless it was a great weekend listen to all these great shows and bringing back the memories of my youth

The big slowdown happened when the show came back from a break, before "Like a Virgin" and the Madonna story.

HOUR #4: "Into The Night" - Benny Mardones (Since this was originally a 1980 song that recharted in 1989, it could be used to pay tribute to Benny Mardones who passed away recently). On the recent 6/28/80 show, Premiere removed "Into The Night" as an optional extra, opting for "On Broadway".

The big slowdown happened when the show came back from a break, before "Like a Virgin" and the Madonna story. Yep, that one segment is bad. It ran at exactly half speed. Kinda like playing a tape that was recorded at 15 ips at 7.5 ips. There is a technical reason why that happened and it's a flaw in the automation software the station uses. Sorry.

Prediction for next show:
7/20/85
With no chance of a 1983 standalone in the month of July that leaves 1982 and 1985 as the best candidates for the last two weeks of the month. With 7/31/82 having last aired as a standalone in 2010 I'm guessing that waits until the last week of July. 7/25/81 could still air that week but we're all hoping Premiere will wait on 1981 so 8/15/81 can be featured.
