I sent WTOJ a text hoping to win your book, Pete! do you know how many they are giving away? I've got 4 copies to give away courtesy of Pete. 2 of the 70's and 2 of the 80's. I'll do the drawing on Monday. If you don't win and you don't have these books already I highly recommend the purchase. They are an invaluable resource and a MUST for me and the recreation work I do. are these available in digital form?

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 7/20/85 2nd Guess - 7/19/80
If guest-hosted shows were playable, 7/17/82 or 7/18/87 would be good guesses but as it is, 1985 appears to be the best option. 1980 is the next best show I can come up with, but it would be a surprise if a 1980 show were played again so soon.

And just five weeks after the last 1985 standalone. I don't get why they chose to make 1983 the B this week when it hadn't been played by itself in two months, when there are other years available and they can be a little more flexible in terms of dates and length between shows for B's. And it's interesting how 1983 and 1984, perhaps the two most "popular" 1980s years (the only two that have never had B alternatives offered) have had such long droughts, of three months or more: there were no standalones from 1984 from March until July 4, and probably none from 1983 from early May at least until early August.

Agree--the choice to air 1983 as a 'B' this weekend is perplexing. I was thinking 7/16/83 (last aired in 2014) and 7/23/83 (2016) would've made a lot more sense for one of the last two weekends in July.

Which station would most likely air the B show (1983) this Saturday? I know that WPNC sometimes goes with B.

For Sunday- WRIP and KABQ are the only two confirmed stations thus far for 1983. My local affiliate KGOR went with 1988 the last two times 5/28 and 6/18, but those were American Top 30. I wonder if they go with 1988 again? I guess I'll find out Sunday morning at 8/9 am. KOKZ is going with 1988 this Sunday morning.

Annoying that KGOR never expanded their time slot to 4 hours when they switched from AT40 the 70's to the 80's. KQQL here in the Twin Cities did the same thing. I think KLOU in St. Louis did also. You would think they could just start the show an hour earlier--isn't that a pretty slow ratings time anyway?

KGOR sells out their time during AT40 so it is perplexing they don't air the opening hour! I have tried contacting their pd through email & Facebook about the situation & have been ignored!!!

Glad they're going with that one! That was the week that the way-underrated "Forever" by Kenny Loggins spent its only week in the Top 40.

Glad they're going with that one! That was the week that the way-underrated "Forever" by Kenny Loggins spent its only week in the Top 40. Though it was heard twice as an LDD, including one show that Premiere has played (1/25/86), as well as a Shadoe-hosted 1990 show.

Love the summer of 1985, I think it's the best music of the 80's!!! Now I have a reason to pull me through a tough week at work next week. Of course I have to get through this weekend's 1988 show which I think may be the worst music in the 80's shows.
