Now on WPNC: AT40 from January 3-4, 2004–Casey’s last ever such, before Ryan Seacrest took over the following week. That was the only week you heard a song called "Who Will I Run To" by Kiley Dean, it then never had a chance to appear on Ryan's AT40 thanks to its no recurrent rule.

Oops. Yes, that show started 15 minutes early. I thought that I had inserted enough of Random Casey to make it to 2 AM. I'm sorry about that. What if I ran it again at 10 PM on Sunday night right after the Top 40 Girls special? You mean the Y2K show? That would be great (as I've already heard the Triathlon special this week). If you can't do the Y2K show again, all I need to know is the second and third story in the fourth hour were. (Unless mga707 was spot-on in his last comment). Just to make my commentary about it complete Yes, WTOJ will rebroadcast the Y2K special Sunday night at 10 PM eastern. You can listen here. Or with your smart device. "Alexa, play WTOJ."

Does anyone know what's going on with KZOY? The stream URL that I use on Winamp hasn't been working since (at least) Friday morning and the TuneIn player on their website had an error when I went on there this morning. I tried the TuneIn player from their website just 5 minutes ago and it seems to be working now.

On AT40: The 80's 7/7/1984: Casey mentioned to tie in with Sergio Mendes' "Alibis" that the Five Satins had the longest gap between a hot 100 chart hit 1961-1982. But it's too bad Five Satins lead singer Fred Parris failed to make the Hot 100 chart in 1975 with his new group Black Satin with a song called "Everybody Stand Up And Clap Your Hands (For the Entertainer)": www.youtube.com/watch?v=gM_u7SWnGPM

I was hoping some station would have aired the top 40 songs of the 80s from December 30-31, 1989. However, since this was a Casey's Top 40 show from Westwood One, it was not available. At least, the next best show available, American Top 40 - the top songs of the 80s so far from ABC/Watermark aired instead.

For the record, here's the optional extras of the Book Of Records special aired on WTOJ (all were introduced by Casey):
Lookin' Out My back Door - Creedence Clearwater Revival Never Can Say Goodbye - The Jackson 5 December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night) - The Four Seasons Walk Don't Run - The Ventures
EDIT: The above optional extras are not the Premiere extras. They were extracted from other shows by Ken Martin himself. The correct Premiere extras, as stated by Ken himself a few posts below, are:
Hour 1: I Can't Stop Loving You - Ray Charles Hour 2: Philadelphia Freedom - The Elton John Band Hour 3: Le Freak - Chic Hour 4: We Can Work It Out - The Beatles

I grabbed a few for my airing of the show. I would have shared these with Premiere but the bonus shows were put in the can with Premiere weeks ago.

You might like this. I posted this on the Magic 103.1 Facebook page about this show: Sunday morning at 6, Magic 103.1 presents American Top 40's "The Fourth of July's Greatest Hits." Casey plays back the songs that were number 1 on the Fourth of July for forty years, from 1936 to 1976. Courtesy of Pete Battistini and his book about AT40 you can see the memo sheets that went to subscribing stations airing this show. (you can buy his books at at40book.com) Something else interesting from Pete's book ... "Turns out that WDHF in Chicago refused to broadcast this show because the music was such a departure from a contemporary sound. "Also, check out the second memo, both from his book. There was a mistake made in this show and they played the wrong song! We've fixed that problem for this airing of the show. Also, some copies of the early songs were not the original hits, but instead stereo re-recordings by the same artists. We've replaced those songs with the original mono versions to be true to the hits of the time.

Would have liked to have heard that show again--I remember it from 44 years ago--but getting up before 3 AM to hear it just didn't happen...
