I'm going to make a bold prediction: For the first time in three years, the first weekly show of the year will NOT be from 1983. No applause please, just throw money.  Excluding year end countdowns, I guess the first regular AT40: The 80's episode will be 1/14/1984 last played in 2012. I'll guess either 1/19/80 or 1/23/88 as the first of the regular countdowns in January. Wondering if they'll break the seal on 1/24/81 this year...I believe that's the only eligible January show that hasn't yet been aired by Premiere. |

Regarding 11-21-1987 this weekend on AT40: The 80's: Did you like Casey's thing on the history of the Billboard R&B charts and how it envolved from Race to Rhythm and Blues to Soul to Black? 3 years later in 1990 during the Shadoe Stevens AT40 era that chart became the R&B chart and Shadoe did a report on that name change for this chart.

Listening today to KZOY,Sioux Falls. They promoted a facebook vote on whether they should play the Christmas shows offered by Premier on Saturdays thru Christmas. The vote is close. as it turned out, not sure why nobody posted this, but KZOY has been playing regular 80s countdown instead of christmas shows yesterday. So I guess christmas will be played next week? |

What's up with KOKZ lately? The last 3 weeks the stream would crap out after about an hour and 15 minutes.

WRQQ's doing that "Bennie and the Jets/Against the Wind/Drift Away/Wonderful Tonight/whatever else ad nauseum" instead of the countdown thing again.

So I guess christmas will be played next week? I counted the votes on KZOY's facebook page. About 24 people voted and about 20 of them were in favor of the regular countdowns and no Christmas countdowns. If they play any Christmas countdown at all this year, it will be the one on Christmas Eve. |

To which I am hoping for 12/10/1983 that weekend. That'll complete my December 1983 collection. I'd rather wait to get 1986 - hopefully the 12/20 show is on tap. (We had the other 12/20 show that weekend last year, 1980!) I would bet the farm that we will hear 12/10/83 (last aired in 2010) the weekend after next--that show might be best known for having Madonna's career top 40 debut. After that, it sure seems like the odds would be good for getting 12/20/86 the weekend of Dec. 17th, and 12/28/85 the weekend of Dec. 24th. If all that happens, the year-end Top 100 almost has to be 1982... |

It first happened when using VLC Media player with provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/kokzfmaac.pls and then using RarmaRadio. There were some error messages after it happened. |
