There were several Christmas songs that were in the hot 100 during the month of December 1962. I'll limit my choices to my three favorites: "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" by the Four Seasons; "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby; and "Little Drummer Boy" by the Harry Simeone Chorale .

Great guesses, but I played the three songs that are released in 1962. If you missed the show they are: "Monster's Holiday" - Bobby Boris Pickett "A Not So Merry Christmas" - Bobby Vinton "Santa Claus Is Watching You" - Ray Stevens Next show will be from 1984 and I selected five songs that were released in 1984. Two of them should be easy to guess as they are still being played today.

Queen's Thank God Its Christmas and Band Aids Do They Know Its Christmas come to mind. You are correct on both, but "Thank God It's Christmas was not played, I do have a copy but could not find it. The five that were played. 1.) Another Lonely Christmas - Prince (flip of I Would Die 4 You debuts in the 40 the following week). 2.) Deck The Halls - Manheim Steamroller 3.) Do They Know It's Christmas - Band Aid (12" version played) 4.) It Must Have Been The Mistletoe - Barbara Mandrell (had to play a country song) 5.) Last Christmas - Wham The next show is from 1977 and there will be four Christmas songs played that were originally released that year. <HINT> One song was written by Gene McDaniels who also wrote a #1 song for this female R&B artist in 1974.

This weekend is our second of two special shows to celebrate 2013. On Sunday at 9 a.m. we will count down the top 100 of 1967 from 100 to number 1. Within the show there are many news clips, classic commercials and we will count down the top 5 TV shows, movies, and albums of that year. Running time will be 6 hours and 23 minutes. The show will repeat again that day at 4:23 p.m. and a repeat schedule on Tuesday New Years Day for a total of four airings. The first regular countdown of 2013 is for January 3, 1981 - Now, this will be an interesting show because there was no chart published for that week. So what I did was took the charts from December 27, 1980 and January 10, 1981 and get an overall medium of the placement of the 40 songs on the chart. It took an hour and a half to finalize all the positions and hope that it meets your satisfaction. The show will be repeated at around 4:28 p.m. and the cue sheet is up (see post #142).
By the way remember the POWERLINE show with Brother John Rivers. On most stations this show usually airs before American Top 40 on Sunday's. I forgot that there was a box of albums sitting in my storage that was just unearthed that was never played since 1984-1985 area. I will air these every Sunday at 8:30 prior to the countdown. The first one will be from January 6, 1985. Next week will be January 13, 1985.

I sure do remember Powerline! I think I listened to it more int late '70's/early 80's time frame.
"If you need someone to care/Powerline will always be there..." or something to that effect - when they would read a letter from someone needing advice.

Someone from a radio station dumped a 30 pound box of "Powerline" and "Master Control" shows in my mail box, can't remember what I paid for it back in 1985-1986. I just stashed it away until just recently that it was unearthed.

This show will be from January 12, 1974 and the cue sheets are up for show #66 for those who just can't wait. Had to find my beat up copy of "The Americans" by Byron McGregor to use on the show. Could not find a CD copy of the song. Repeat will be around 4:30 p.m.
