I would love to hear a montage of Casey intros from the first hour, but the chance of hearing something like that would be slim to none because the optional extras are all about playing extra songs in its entirety.

It is time to give a clue for the show that will air on the weekend of July 23/24. Recently the top 40 acts of the '70s was played and 12 of the songs in the top 40 of the upcoming show are by artists that appeared on that show. Artists appearing as optional extras do not count.

Predictions for next week's show--should be early 70's, right? Now that 1970 is back in the fold, the obvious question is when will the first show be played? Probably not next week, since 7/25/70 has already been played twice...
First guess: 7/21/73 Second guess: 7/24/71

I'm still going with the July 25, 1970 program as a prediction.
Backup: July 24, 1971.

It's gotta be 7/21/73...unless I overlooked an artist, that's the only one I found that would fit. Note that this does not include the 7/25/70 chart or 7/22/78 (both of which have aired twice already), nor 7/22/72 or 7/21/79 due to those years airing the past weekend and this coming one.

I'm guessing 7/21/73 also. They have never played a July '73 on AT40-the 70's to my knowledge.

The WHNN cue sheet is posted; here are this week's extras - all songs that were otherwise already in the show when originally aired back in '79: Billy Preston - Nothing From Nothing (normally the 3rd Hour Archive song) Joe Jackson - Is She Really Going Out With Him? (#35) Robert John - Sad Eyes (#34) briguy and mrjukebox guessed Joe and Robert. ponderousman had the right idea to guess that one of the later Archives would be cut and moved to an extra...but guessed the wrong one. Olivia remains in place.

Any Oklahomans out there? Not only does OK have a town back then that did not allow public dancing but in Pete's book, there is a piece on a station in Tulsa that did not play My Ding-a-ling when it was #1. What's in the water down there....lol

kinda sad tale there about Lennon not joing the other Beatles for he was busy writing and recording his comeback album, which we all now know as DOUBLE FANTASY and his assassination which followed.

***and his assassination which followed.
Thats how I refer to it as well! I saw the Behind The Music where they talked about his last years just the other night. Had a hard time watching once they got to the end of December 8th.
