Yes. Right at the peak. I count 18 disco or disco-ish songs. Casey said 15 disco songs. Depending on how one classifies them I got up to 19 disco-type songs, which includes not only pure disco but disco-styled pop, danceable funk, and even go-go--from (where I am) local hero Chuck Brown, whose classic "Bustin' Loose" appears in the optional first hour. I count these as YES and (these) as MAYBE: 2, 3, 6, 8, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, (22), 25, 26, 27, 30, 32, (34) To me 17 of them are for sure disco, with 22 being a stretch choice and 34 more r/b-gogo than disco...and 39 being kind of an r/b-slow disco hybrid. If he would not be counting HOG as "new wave", I still don't get it down to only 15 either.

And by the time we get to fall 1979 the number of disco songs almost never exceeded the single digits, even under the most generous definition (anything really dance-oriented even if it was more pop, R&B/soul, or funk than actual disco.)

My total of 18 songs consists of all you list above except for #22 ('Love Ballad'), and I can see why you might count that one as well.

Saturday 6 am - 10 am WLIM - 93.3 The Breeze - Coram NY 93.3 FM/1580 AM Listen - Stream Link: fmstream.org/index.php?f=10427 108.163.245.230:8037/xstream tunein.com/radio/933-The-Breeze-1440-s21608/ Website: 933thebreeze.com/ Plays Optional Extras Station also airs AT40 70s Sunday's at 7 am.
WLIM seems to have axed all Casey from their schedule and replaced it by TOM Kent Radio shows. Yesterday was instead of the 80s show Tom Kent´s "Loving living life in the 80s" And right now where Casey´s 70 show should be on it´t Tom kent´s "Classic hits countdown". Does anybody know if there is another station in the NEW York aera airs Caseys AT40 anymore? After WLIX had switched off some years now The Breeze 93,3 axed Casey too..

The fact that some of these stations have chosen to air Christmas music in the month of April is completely absurd!

The fact that some of these stations have chosen to air Christmas music in the month of April is completely absurd! I don't get it either. I would rather hear Summer songs with the idea of feeling upbeat and looking forward. There are a few songs that put me in a good mood from the late 60's such as "Hot Fun In The Summertime" by Sly & The Family Stone, "More Today Than Yesterday" by Spiral Staircase and "Grazing In The Grass" by The Friends Of Distinction to name a few. Right now, I'm Staying Away from "In The Year 2525" by Zager & Evans, and the Blood, Sweat, and Tears song "And When I Die" which happens to be my favorite from them.

I'd definitely play many Beach Boys songs, and other upbeat songs that were popular in the summer or even late spring (since many of us tend to associate them with warm weather).

WTOJ calls it their "Christmas Quarantine Weekend". But if they had to do that couldn't they have at least made room for the AT40 that their own Ken Martin is credited (by Larry Morgan at the end) with having digitally remastered, along with Shannon Lynn? Especially since they would have aired a complete four hour 1979 show that they hadn't ever played before.

If you don't mind Christmas music outside of late in a year, there have been January 1979 ("Please Come Home For Christmas" by the Eagles) and January 1985 ("Do They Know it's Christmas" by Band-Aid) AT40 shows that had a Christmas song in the countdown!

That time of year is understandable, and I enjoy it into January as well (not so much this time of year, though). Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" extended into January 1995.

Couldn't agree more -- completely asinine that any stations are playing Xmas music right now, but why on Earth would you not at least play scheduled programming like AT40? And when your station has one of the key members of Premiere's AT40 classics staff? Not much logic there...

Perhaps Ken was overridden by that, as well. Interested to read what he says next time he pops in here.

Does anybody know a station running the 1973 show today or the next days ? KOZI aired 1973 on Saturday. Scheduled for Sunday 7 pm. Station is prone to air hour 2 again in hour 3 on Sundays for some reason. WMGN should have show next Saturday at 7 am.
Does anybody know if there is another station in the NEW York aera airs Caseys AT40 anymore? After WLIX had switched off some years now The Breeze 93,3 axed Casey too.. WPTY HD2, out of Patchogue, airs show at 5 PM. No 70s AT40 on WTOJ too??! It´s all christmas music weekend again without Casey... WPAC should have the 4-hour version of 1979 at 4 PM.
Note: WPAC went with 4/14/84. WPNC is likely to air the 4-hour version of 1979 again late Tuesday night.
