An interesting anecdote regarding "Make It With You" by Bread-Several years ago, lead singer David Gates told an interviewer that he was visiting his hometown of Tulsa,Oklahoma-David's mom told the local paper that her son's group had just released their first hit called "Make It With You"-Unfortunately,the reporter got the wrong title-Instead of "Make It With You",he wrote "Naked With You".

In the original show they played the LONG version 7.39 of "Are You Ready". That was cut down to 2 minutes. OK by me, the LONG version was really way too long and did not add anything of value, IMO. We did get long versions of "Maybe" and "Spill the Wine", however. 1970 had far fewer commercials.

On the countdown from 8/3/74,Casey read a QL (Question Letter) from a listener who asked about the biggest drop a song took from the number one position-The answer was "The Sounds Of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel which had gone to # 1 for a week in January 1966-It fell to # 2 & then returned to # 1 before dropping to # 12. In late 1974,two songs were tied for taking a bigger plunge from the number one spot-They were "Nothing From Nothing" by Billy Preston & "Then Came You" by Dionne Warwick & The Spinners-They both dropped from # 1 all the way down to # 15. It's odd that question came just weeks before six songs, including the ones you mentioned, took drops from #1 as big (or bigger, in the case of the two 1-15 dropping songs) as "The Sounds Of Silence", which, up to that point, was the only song to fall out of the Top Ten from #1. I wonder if, had whatever policy that went into place to allow the big droppers remained in place longer, would there have been even bigger drops from No. 1 on the Hot 100? (A 1-to-20, for instance.) At that point in Hot Country Singles chart history (August 1974), if I’m correct, there had yet to be a song drop from No. 1 directly out of the top 10. There were a fair number that fell to a spot between 6-10, but none further. Brian

There should be a half dozen or so stations tomorrow like WKIX, WIHG & WPAC. Here is WPAC's first airing from earlier today:
Thank you!! I'm planning on listening to the PAC-cast tomorrow. Did they get the whole show this time or does at least part of #1 get cut off as usual? Please don't tell me what #1 is since for one of the few times I'm not quite sure.
