Interesting juxtaposition on the '72 show: Stevie Wonder's oddly anti- Women's Lib song, "Superwoman", followed by Argent (as if in rebuttal) singing "hold your head up, woman!" Checked a few lyric sites and most went with 'Hold your head up, ohhhh...', although one (Genius Lyrics) did go with '...woman'.

Said stream cuts off during the #2 "Baker Street" intro by Casey, FYI. The station was running quite late today. KLNC also had a 5 minute hiccup in the 3rd hr this morning. That leaves WMGN and Hoggy Sunday 1pm EDT as potential options. Well that explains why my recording failed around song #8.

On the countdown from 7/15/78,Casey mentioned that The Shirelles' original version of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" was produced by Phil Spector-That's incorrect-The correct producer was Luther Dixon.

Good catch, mrjukebox. The song was co-written by Carole King & Gerry Goffin and, as you state, produced by Luther Dixon. Perhaps Casey either read the wrong information or remembered it incorrectly (since he would've been a DJ at the time the Shirelles song was a hit in 1961). By the way, the original title was 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow' ; the word 'Still' was added to the title on the Dave Mason release.

Premiere optional extras for 7/19/75 in 2009: Hour #1: "Thank God I'm A Country Boy" - John Denver (fell out of Top 40 this week) Hour #2: "Feel Like Makin' Love" - Bad Company Hour #3: "Dance With Me" - Orleans It also looks like we'll be getting the mystery voiceover guy for at least the '70s show this week judging from WHNN's cue sheet. "Thank God,I'm A Country Boy" by John Denver was played as one of the optional extras-However,the studio version from his "Back Home Again" album was played instead of the live version, which topped the chart a month earlier.

One trainspotter's note regarding America's "I Need You" in the 7/15/72 show. The new stereo AT40 episode uses George Martin's remix made for the History Greatest Hits album in 1975. So does every version of that song I can find on the various hits albums on streaming sites (they have even substituted it into the first album).
The remix largely sounds much better to me than the original (in particular improving the drum sound), but it reveals that Gerry Beckley's double tracking got out of sync in the line "just knowing you were thinking of me" in the second verse. This was hidden in the original mix. Also, on the opening "we used to laugh" every version of the remix has a fadeup so you can barely hear "we," since the History album had an overlap with the previous song at that point.
Not sure if the original mix is on CD anywhere, although I believe an audiophile label did a CD of the first album where they presumably used it.

"That's The Way Of The World" by EW&F replaces the John Denver extra in hour 1. The other two extras remain the same as last time.

"Mystery voiceover guy" ... I guess nobody knew who Larry Morgan was at the time, and it probably seemed like a random dude after having Mike Kasem (and Ed McMann, who was doing the current AT40 shows, before that).

^I like that we're getting 7/28/73 next week -- good to knock out another unplayed show. Would've preferred 7/20/74 for this weekend, but we'll get another new show or two in the coming weeks from what it sounds like.
