Some oddball observations about this weeks chart, songs #34-29 are all songs titles that start with "s". Later in the chart at #27 is "Haven't Stopped Dancin' Yet" followed by "I Was Made For Dancin'". The next song was "Crazy Love", a phrase that appears in the lyrics to "I Was Made For Dancin'".

"....I am planning to check out WSQL tonight to see if they at least play 3 hours of 1979. Wondering though, only the AM signal is in DAR not 102.1 FM....right?"
" ....No, it is not! I fixed it, here is the url i used on DAR FM"
Is the new FM feed in stereo?

Thanks for all the help, guys. I discovered this post a little too late, but where can I even read that WPAC plays AT40? The post I use for the list of '70s stations: at40fg.proboards.com/thread/3747/at40-70s-station-list-2014doesn't list WPAC. Is there some other list people are going by? In fact, I just checked and WODC doesn't show up on the list either. Where is this list that includes WPAC and WODC? I'm obviously looking at a very outdated one. There is an updated thread that is on page 2 at the moment, I believe the title of the thread indicates it was started as recent as November 2014 (and has been updated since). You may want to update your shortcuts/bookmarks, as this thread was started in November 2014, whereas the one you linked was started January 2014, and has kinda slipped down several pages. at40fg.proboards.com/thread/4260/at40-station-list-november-2014

Just saw the news that former Eagle, Randy Meisner's wife - died from what was called an accidental shooting inside their home.
The news said she moved a firearm inside a case causing something else to fall striking and causing the firearm to discharge - fatally wounding her.
The news report also said the police had been called to the home only 90 minutes before and filed a domestic violence report.

For anyone willing to stay up late, WPNC is replaying the four hour 1979 show. Put on some coffee and enjoy.

Everyone who guessed this week, guessed "Ruby Tuesday" and Michael Jackson correctly. With the clue I gave, it certainly stood to reason that the show's sole original extra would become optional. But nobody managed to uncover the other non-future-AT40 hit. This week's extras are: "Ruby Tuesday" - The Rolling Stones (original AT40 extra) "Rockin' Robin" - Michael Jackson "Diamonds Are Forever" - Shirley Bassey This week's issues of Billboard: March 11, 1972March 12, 1977

I love the March 11, 1972 show. I bought 11 singles that are on that chart. A lot of others I liked that I didn't buy. Really love Detroit Emeralds, Yes, Dennis Coffey & The Detroit Guitar Band and the Dramatics. Found out in a book about Detroit musicians (titled something like "Guitars, Stars & Motown Bars") that it's Dennis Coffey doing the raindrop sound effects at the beginning of the Dramatics record. Don't know if Casey ever found out, but some stuff about Motown musicians was hidden because Berry Gordy fined them $500 for moonlighting, according to another book/DVD about Motown ("Standing In The Shadows..."). "Talking Loud And Saying Nothing" by James Brown is a special treat on the 1972 along with anything by America on any AT40 countdown. I remember "Horse" when it was #1 with Dick Clark guest hosting. By the way, even though I love 3/11/72 it may not be my WODC selection, but I'm gonna hear it somewhere for sure! My slogan: "Playing what YOU like, not what I like!" Although I can tell we like the same thing.

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 3/23/74 2nd Guess - 3/20/76
Both of these are new shows--wouldn't surprise me if we got either one of them...

I would like to know if KOKZ or any other affiliate will be airing the 3-12-77 show this weekend? I haven't seen or heard anything yet.

^KOKZ & WMGN are both playing 1977 on Saturday. KYMG & WPNC most likely will air 1977 Saturday.
It will be interesting to find out if a station like WODC or WPAC will air both '70s shows this weekend.

Ahh, it's nice to get a head start on the weekend with AT40 - The 70s on Thursday evenings. Fair warning: the WSQL website suggests that the show won't be on next Thursday, as they'll instead be covering the Atlantic Coast Conference basketball tournament. Next Thursday, the quarter-finals of the ACC tournament will be played. I also went to the sports link on the website and it had a North Carolina Tar Heels schedule on it. They may be an affiliate of UNC and next Thursday's airing of AT40 might depend on what time UNC is playing as they could play in the afternoon next Thursday. WSQL is running the ACC basketball tournament games this afternoon featuring Duke and North Carolina. It will be interesting to see what they do about tonight's games because there are no North Carolina based teams playing tonight.

Unfortunately, my original thought was correct -- ACC basketball is indeed on WSQL tonight. Next week the NCAA tournament starts and North Carolina will play on Thursday in Raleigh. If they play a night game it will pre-empt AT40 again. As a side note,I don't believe that it's legal for radio stations to stream college and pro sports on their websites as what is happening tonight.
