The stations airing Casey's Xmas show might air the American Top 20 Xmas songs. Just in time for Veterans day. Something is wrong here. Some Ohio stations did this in 2011.

I don't know what will be offered this year, but stations that normally play AT40 from the 70s or 80s that go all-Christmas have previously been offered Casey-hosted AT10 countdowns devoted to holiday music. But that usually hasn't started until the weekend after Thanksgiving.

I was going to pm wahoo with this prediction since we were dealing with this show but might as well throw it out to everyone. I think the next 80s show after the one that will be announced tonight will be 11/17/84 since they can't play 11/10/84.

So I'm completely baffled as the selections this week. Throw the book out the window on methods of coming up with predictions.
The 80's series...after another 1-week break from 1984, I'm going back to it (with dukedeb on this one!). The 70's...how about 1975 again? SXM...going with an early 70's show, assuming they don't air 1975 too.
For the weekend of Nov. 17th: 80s - 11/17/84 70s - 11/15/75 SXM - 11/13/71

Well for the first time in weeks, Premiere picked two shows that actually made sense. Let's see if it continues for another week.
For the 80's...I am going to try 1986 again, under the assumption that PRN will wear out '86 this fall. For the 70's, let's go with 1975 again--the question is: do they air 11/22/75, which was played in 2010, or do they go with 11/29/75 (SXM played last year)? After all, there has to be at least one more '75 show, even if they air 1975 as the year end top 100. SXM has a long '77 drought going right now.
For the week of Nov. 24th: 80's - 11/22/86 70's - 11/29/75 SXM - 11/26/77

The weekend of Nov. 24 will bring the following:
• 1970s: Nov. 22, 1975. A repeat, but this'll be one of an increasingly few last opportunities to hear Neil Sedaka's "Bad Blood" during a regular countdown show. (It holds at No. 29 for the Nov. 29 show, then drops to No. 38 the following week in its last week on.) We'll also have to hurry up to hear the Eagles' "Lyin' Eyes," which only has three shows left before they're left out.
• SXM: Nov. 24, 1973.
• 1980s: OK, OK, Nov. 21, 1987.

Well, I am going with two repeat shows, after our vaunted one-week reprieve of new shows.
For the 70s series, I say 11/22/75; for the 80s, 11/23/85.

Brian No way they play 11/21/87 - that show was aired just last year.

Predictions for next week's shows...somehow after not being able to guess a darned thing right for the past two months in the 80's series, I have a slight streak going. Let's see if I can make it three in a row. Tricky thing about next weekend, is it's Dec. 1st, which means the odds are that it will be a December show for both Premiere airings. However, I am going to buck that thought...at least in the 80's series. 1987 should be a likely candidate, but it would have to be 11/28/87, and that doesn't seem totally feasible for a Dec. 1/2 airing. Guessing on '87 later in December.
The '70s show is totally throwing me. Part of me wants to say we get a repeat of the 12/1/73 show (first aired two years ago, and would be the 3rd time this one has been played if it is the choice) as the 'A' show, and 12/2/78 (also aired two years ago, but only as a 3-hour version) as a 'B' show. Tough one to pick...
SXM...I was actually thinking the same as lasvegaskid for a little while there, but it seems that SXM has really made an effort to avoid piggybacking on Premiere's shows lately.
For the weekend of December 1st:
80's - 11/30/85 70's - 12/4/71 (possibly a repeat of 12/2/78 as a 'B' show?) SXM - 12/2/72

So any alternative 70s show would probably be a C, and I don't know if they'll do that. (Which makes me wonder if we'll get any regular pre-1973 countdowns until January.)

I don't see why Premiere wouldn't offer pre-1973 shows in December, what with the vast majority of US radio stations opting to play the Christmas shows during that month.
I could see at least one being offered. That wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.

Okay. So, I'm pulling for 11/30/85 for next week's 80s show ("Separate Lives" by Phil Colliins and Marilyn Martin was number one!), though I do see that Premiere is fairly strict about keeping 80s shows within the offered month.
However...rules are made to be broken, so I stay with that show as my first prediction. The backup plan would be 11/28/87.
As for the 70s, I see that 1973 hasn't been offered as the 'A' show for a while, so I go with 12/1/73, with the backup being 11/30/74.
So, either way, I think we'll get an "early" 70s show next weekend.

Well, I guess we shouldn't be too surprised at this point regarding the shows for this week, given the repeat-fest that's been going on over the last several months. So I guess that we should expect more of the same through the end of the year?
For the 80's, it's a tough week to pick due to the sheer number of shows available. If it's not a repeat, let's say 12/12/87. We are due for an '87 show...unless '87 is the year-ender. If it is a repeat, I'm not really sure which repeat show it would be since funny enough, there haven't been that many shows played from the second weekend in December yet in the series...12/13/80 maybe? That show would be more appropriate the following week however, from a date standpoint.
For the '70s, let's say 12/9/78. The only negative if we get this show will be trying to get that darned first hour. SXM...they have quite a '75 drought going, so why not?
For the week of Dec. 8th: 80's - 12/12/87 70's - 12/9/78 SXM - 12/6/75
