Thank you, wahoo. And you probably know I despise the Steelers, and are just being cheeky. I love it! Well, my October predictions as far as the 80s are concerned have already been rendered largely moot, as we are getting 9/28/85 this coming weekend. So I say we get 10/2/1982 (not a 1987 show, as I had opined in the 80s thread) the first weekend of October, followed by 10/10/1987, then 10/20/1984, with 10/25/1980 rounding out the month. Or so I think, huh? I'm with you on the 10/20/84 show, but I would be surprised if we got 10/25/80. We got 10/4/80 in 2010 and 10/18/80 last year...not that we couldn't get it, but doesn't seem likely to get an Oct. 1980 show for a 3rd straight year, especially having just gotten an '80 show in late September...

Let's get 'em started! Casey lite; won't repeat Premiere! 1988 SXM: 1979 Is this for the next weekend (Oct. 12-14)? Casey lite has already said they'll do 1983 for Oct. 5-7, while you posted that SXM 7 will air 1972. I'd rather that they play your prediction of 1979; it's been three weeks since they last ran 1972 and over three months since their last 1979 AT40.

Predictions for next week...well let me say that I am a little surprised that Premiere is going on this crazy string of repeats in the 80's series. Not sure what that has to do with, but I'm hoping they throw some originals at us again soon. I am not sure why they couldn't play 10/10/87 this week instead of 10/3/87 though...doesn't make a lot of sense. Anyway, I am thinking that string ends this week.
As for the 70's, I am going to guess that we get a '75 show sometime this month, but of course, there are only two eligible Oct. '75 shows available...so I will assume we wait a week or two for that '75 show. The tricky thing is these 2-show weekends...but I will guess that we don't get two shows for two straight weeks, which would likely rule out 1970-72. So let's go with the show on which Rick Dees had the #1 song.
SXM...just shooting in the dark. Even though it's been forever since they aired a '79 show, we got 10/13/79 a year ago, so highly unlikely. Ah...but '74 has an even longer drought!
For the weekend of October 13th: 80's - 10/16/82 70's - 10/16/76 SXM - 10/12/74

Casey lite; won't repeat Premiere! 1988 SXM: 1979 80s: 1984 70s: 1976 If this is for the weekend of Oct. 13th, 10/13/79 was played by SXM last year, and 10/13/84 was played by Premiere in 2010. Not that it couldn't happen, but my guess is that we won't hear either of those shows...

Wahoo, I like 10/16/76 for next weekend's 70s show - yes, Rick Dees is at number one, and I very much want that show to air. I've always been a sucker for "Disco Duck".
For the following week, I like 10/21/71 for a stand-alone show, with the first-ever airing of a 1975 show coming in the final weekend of October.
As for the 80s, I have no freaking clue what to think. The 10/13/84 show was just played in 2010, but I doubt that will stop Premiere from putting it on next weekend, so I'll go with it.
Then, it should be 1982 and 1981, in whatever order, for the final two weeks of October. And either one of the 81 shows would be a repeat, as well.

1987-07-11 : Charlie Van Dyke 1987-07-18 : Charlie Van Dyke Are you sure Casey got back to back vacation weeks? Yes, both are hosted by Charlie Van Dyke. Actually it was mentioned on the 7/18 show that Casey wasn't feeling well. Same thing for the 1/16/1988 show.

Well...I was thinking 1982 for this weekend, but '81 does make sense. And it really fits in well with this marathon string of repeats we have going. I will guess again that the streak ends this week. As a matter of fact, I would bet the farm that we get 1984 in the next two weeks, which would be sure to end the streak.
Speaking of streaks ending...it's time to break out October 1975. As for SXM...they are due for their favorite year...
For the week of Oct. 20th 80's - 10/20/84 70's - 10/18/75 SXM - 10/17/70

It would be nice to have at least two weeks (mid 70's) where there will only be one show. I am thinking that 70 thru 72 have been placed recently and 75 and 76 need attention!

OK, so somewhat of a surprise this week in both series...as a matter of fact, the only one I got correct was SXM. Certainly didn't expect the 1979 show as an alternate this week.
As for the 80's, 1986 would have been my third choice, but since they went with a third '86 show in the second half of the year, it is beginning to look like '86 might be the year that gets played excessively this fall (a la 1985 last year, 1984 in 2010). This puts me in a conundrum, since I had 10/29/83 penciled in for the last week in October, but I have to think the odds would be on 1984 here at some point. However...if they pass on 1983 this week, they would almost have to wait to air 11/26/83 over Thanksgiving weekend. The 80's show is a tough call this week...
For the 70's...well it's do or die for an October 1975 show this year. Gonna go with it. And look at this--SXM actually has an even rotation going on for once!
80's - 10/29/83 70's - 10/25/75 SXM - 10/29/77
Amending my post as of Tuesday afternoon...as I think it through, 1983 does seem like the better choice for next week. I think they repeat the 11/3/84 show the following week. Of course, 1982 would be another good possibility--either 10/23/82 or 10/30/82. 10/25/80 wouldn't be out of the question, but I think we hear an '80 show sometime in November instead.

I'm with you on both the 70s and the 80s shows for the last weekend of October, wahoo.
As if that matters...

Well...for the second straight week, the show that was my "Dark Horse" in the 80's series (i.e. my third choice) was the show they picked, but quite honestly I didn't expect to hear anything other than '83 or '84. In the 70's series, it was my second choice. SXM...I whiffed altogether. So not a great week for me...time to get back on the horse.
I skipped 1984 for a week, because I do believe that they are going to finally break that drought next weekend. After all, 11/3/84 is a repeat, so it fits right in with Premiere's strategy right now. For the 1970s...well Premiere declined to broach Oct. 1975 this year, so not sure which way they will go. Heck, let's go with '75 again! SXM...they haven't aired '73 since August, so why not?
For the weekend of Nov. 3rd: 80's - 11/3/84 70's - 11/1/75 SXM - 11/3/73

I've got bad news for you and your predictions, wahoo - I'm agreeing with you again!
Totally flabbergasted that we aren't getting October 1975 this year, and disappointed, too.
Oh, well - maybe next year!

OK, so we're now into not only repeating on the 80's series, but repeating for a 2nd time! OK by me this week (as well as the last time it happened with the 10/17/81 show) since I don't have it. However, I am a little bummed that they decided to cut the archive extras. Hopefully they won't continue with this nonsense of moving the first song of the second hour back to the first hour. I thought I had it figured out on the '81 show, but this past week it made no sense whatsoever for them to move "It's Raining Again" back to the first hour. Maybe the editor (Steven Carthy?) has too much time on his hands.
On to next week...the way I see it, there are only two shows that should get any strong consideration to be aired. One of them is 11/8/86...but I am going to assume we hear an '86 show later in November. That leaves 1985...
As for the 70's show, pretty good bet it's going to be a late '70s show after getting early 70's for both the A and B shows this week (btw, don't really get that one either). I would guess 1977 if it weren't for the fact that 11/5/77 and 11/12/77 were each aired in the past two years. SXM...just like Premiere, there's a 1975 drought going on, so we'll go with that.
For the weekend of Nov. 10th:
80's - 11/9/85 70's - 11/10/79 SXM - 11/8/75
