Adam,
You and I may disagree on how we feel about Ryan on AT40. But we can likely both agree that Knock Knock Live will not be missed!!

Only thing I saw of it was during the All Star Game. Have no real opinion of it since I ignore all shows that resemble this one and wasn't paying much attention.

For over 11 d**n years I've been hearing how he sucks, he won't make it 5 years, he won't make it 10...well here it is beyond 11 and he's going strong. In terms of AT40 host longevity he's done so longer than Shadoe, longer than Casey Kasems second stint, and in 7 years he will hosted longer continually than any other. Regardless of what you think, that says something about his talent, ability, and interest in doing the show. A show he himself listened to growing up and admiring the host of! Indeed, he reminded listeners of this in last weekend's show (8/1/15). After playing an extra song requested by a listener who said he had been listening to AT40 since Casey Kasem hosted, Ryan said that he too had been a fan since Casey's days (in Ryan's case, probably back to the 1980s) and never thought that he'd be sitting in Casey's place.

Another guest host alert: this weekend's show will be hosted by Andy Grammer ("Honey I'm Good", "Keep Your Head Up.")
Unlike Jason Derulo and Demi Lovato last month, Andy was not announced as guest host in advance, so maybe Ryan just got sick or had some other sudden emergency or commitment pop up that rendered him unable to do the show.

Probably the case.

One question, is Ryan hosting AT40 less and less these days? Is he starting to lose interest in hosting AT40 as of lately?

His absences seem to be typically vacations, times when other shows/projects might need his attention, and probably the occasional illness or other personal issue. He takes a lot less time off from the countdown than Casey usually did in the 1990s and 2000s. I haven't counted precisely lately, but the number of guest hosted AT40s has remained pretty consistent over the last several years.

Exactly. Many forget there was a period where Casey only hosting two weeks in a row between guest hosts was the norm in the 90s - and only three weeks in a row between David Perry and Ed McMann shows was the norm for close to ten years

I the 92-94 range he'd go from like mid March-July with maybe a week or two off. That was his marathon stretch, lol.

Let me go ahead and get this out there now. Next Summer whenever the Olympics are, Ryan is the late night host of them. So I'd imagine he may not be doing AT40 or his morning show (which shockingly no one ever gripes about him missing if he takes time off for that) during that time. You have 1 year to prepare a great manifesto decrying how he is an awful host and doesn't care about the show. Please use APA format when citing sources otherwise we will nail you for plagiarizing.
Have fun.

Ok. I plan to watch as much as I do every Olympics. Which is split second it takes when I flip past to something more interesting.

I will be switching channels too but not to preseason football. So that's 2 sporting events I will bypass a year from now.

The only preseason games I ever usually watch are the ones with Jags and Bucs in it and that's usually half the game, maybe. So I won't be watching much of that either. I'll be watching baseball and Rizzoli & Isles.
