Smooth 70s in the UK, on every occasion I've listened to them, and that's been at least three or four times, DO play the optional extras (I don't see that listed for any of their airings), besides filling in the US commercial breaks with their own extras from the applicable year.

I've been checking out XHPRS (The Walrus) from the San Diego area again, and they appear to have dropped the extras, and their local announcer (a lit-tle Charlie Tuna-esque, IMO) is introducing each hour with the chart date instead of Larry!Honestly, I've wondered what the affiliates think of Mr Morgan!

Another thing XHPRS will do is to play the extras with no voiced intro or outro at all. Using their own personalities to recut the Larry Morgan intros and outros is fine; it even helps to promote their people. But when a Casey-voiced, original extra is omitted because of this, then it is unacceptable! Bottom line: they really DON'T play the extras.

Pizzzzza, KLIO listed 1970 as the week it was playing, but if you follow the link on page 1 here, or on the station's website, you will end up on WPLJ. You can select another format or metro area, but if you choose Wichita Falls, KLIO is not among those listed. You might want to test that one more time before removing the link from page 1. maybe you will have better luck or know some secret I couldn't figure out between myself and google. Maybe it was just at the time I checked... thanks Pam - I just double-checked the links - seem to be working ok today. Maybe it's just that the Page Title said WPLJHD2 and it wasn't playing AT40 at the prescribed time. It does seem to be the right channel, although they don't really identify, they sometimes mention Scott Shannon and he's on their homepage. What ever happened to call letters? Okay, apparently they just call themselves True Oldies. Can I go back to the 80s?

Nope, they just *announced* they were WPLJ and WPLJ (something) New York. Weird but then I scrolled thru their little list and found WPLJ and it wasn't the same song. Not the same format either. I have no idea what I'm listening to. I give up. Going to bed. Sidenote: Crimson and Clover puts my duck to sleep
and they just said True Oldies... something. bed really

Shameless bump from page 2... I'll try and update the list sometime this weekend. Bump away. I finally had to bookmark it (in my browser - proboards bookmarking is not so great) as noted in some thread or other KLFM played 3 hours of a 4 hour countdown from 1978, so their "plays 4 hours when available" may need to be changed - at least to "most of the time" Seriously, Casey just said "this is the third hour of our new four hour format" - just so no one was confused, except for those of us who have only heard one hour of it so far.

Methinks this station airs the show from 7am - 10 am. It's 10:15 am EST now and the show has just concluded. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday 9 am - Noon WTRG - Great 98 - Weldon NC 97.9 FM v5.player.abacast.com/v5.1/player/index.php?uid=6536------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday 9 pm - Midnight KTHI - K-Hits - Super Hits of the 70s and 80s - Boise ID 107.1 FM players.jbgmedia.com/KTHI/player.htmlPlays AT 40 - 70s - 4 Hour Edition NOTE: Show starts 1 hour early Plays the 1st Optional Extra of AT 40 - 70s - 4 Hour Edition ---------------------------------------- Somebody posted on another thread show now starts at 11am EDT? (10am for 4hr shows)[/quote The KTHI website homepage states they'll be playing the 1978 show at 8AM which is an hour earlier than their normal 9AM start time because of the 4 hour show. Because Boise is in mountain time the start time would be 10AM ET instead of 11AM because there is only a 2 hour difference between mountain and eastern time.

I can't believe Premiere spends so much time with these optional four hour shows when only about three confirmed stations actually run them!
