On the app: September 9, 2000 So far D2K is the only one updated. The 90s show has updated to September 9, 1995. 80s is still last week's 1986 show.

This week all three shows have the same date.

LOL, third time's the charm.
ETA: Now that I've double-checked the date...if this isn't the first Dees 2K show to get repeated on the app, then at the very least there aren't that many. In total, this is the 4th airing for 9/9/2000, the last time being 9/6/2020 on radio only.
For that reason, it will also be interesting to see if KKMK ends up getting this one tomorrow as well - though I'd bet on that being 9/15/01, because that was last year's show.

...this is getting ridiculous. KKMK started at 7:49! But it is indeed 9/15/01, tonight.

Notes:
Although "You Rock My World" had far and away the most adds on the corresponding R&R (all but 11 stations out of 137 total), MJ already had his turn as Sure Shot the week before. So, it passed down to second-place "A Little Bit".
Because Rick took Blink 182's "The Rock Show" right off the countdown (they would have slid to #40 otherwise) and was holding Gorillaz "Clint Eastwood" off as well, U2 arrive a week ahead of AT40. This also leads "Don't Need You to Tell Me I'm Pretty" to go 40-39-40 (this week being 39), rather than just the single week at 40.
Similarly, Afroman only debuts way up at #28 because Rick held him off for a week (though even if he'd come in on-schedule, he'd still have had the week's highest debut).
Rick switched Mandy Moore and Darude, as well as Wiseguys and Usher, versus R&R. There was no switching involved for the "boat full of Nellys" kicking off Hour 3, however.
"Gone" had its bridge left intact; AT40 also played the full-length song this week.
I remember going to Rick.com for the Usher interview back in 2001 - what's heard in this week's countdown is a shortened/edited version of that (for example, it's "Bonnie" that calls in rather than "Big Breasted Bonnie", and Rick originally acted reluctant to even allow the call through).

I think some work was done to the Rick Dees Hit Music app.. I’ve noticed now if you close out the app in middle of a show, if you reopen the app it will bring you back to the section where you left off. Before if that happened, you would go all the way back to the beginning of show.

Hmmm...I may need to set aside time this weekend to test that out.

New shows for the week 9/20/86 9/19/92 9/21/02 The last third or so of 2002 is a very unexplored area...among regular countdowns after August, just 10/12 and 11/16 have been done. The only other one, 12/7, is an all-request.

After the past month of starting increasingly earlier, KKMK is back to normal start time tonight, right at 8:00. On tap? Last year's offering, of course. For this week that's 9/18/2004 - for which, admittedly, this is only its second play.
