Is anyone else having issues with the Rick Dees app this morning? It doesn’t load and I am also having issues with the Sirius XM app as well.

Could be you, given not one but two app issues - Rick's loads fine for me.

KDGL TheEagle1069.com is playing 12/20/86 today. The sure shot is "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. This is this show's 6th airing on retro-Dees, most recently 12/19/2020.

What year did Rick start his Hot AC shows? I'm thinking 1994, since that year-end show that I recorded from his website several years ago was the HAC version. (I doubt "Love Is All Around" by Wet Wet Wet would rank at #20 on the CHR year-end.)

Interestingly, Casey began his Hot AC shows just two weeks earlier (11/5).

The current show and D2K are both Christmas specials. 90s says December 17, 1994, although it may be the air date of the following weekend. 80s hasn’t been updated yet.

90s says December 17, 1994, although it may be the air date of the following weekend. No, for two reasons: 1) The following weekend was Part 1 of The Top 94 of 1994. 2) The Sure Shot here is "Take a Bow", which means December 17 is correct. Also, the 80s have now updated to December 19, 1987 (SS: "I Found Someone").

WBEL Mostly90s.com is playing a "Christmas Party" today. Rick did Christmas Party shows in at least 96,98, and 99, and maybe more. I'm not sure which year this show is. The 1st song played is by Brian Setzer and the 2nd is "The First Noel" by N'Sync.

Since 90s does not seem to be known for "new" shows first airing on radio, I'd be inclined to think it's 98. At a minimum it's not 96 due to the two acts mentioned. Separately, is there any real distinction between the 2000/2001/2002/2003 ones? My thought is to listen to the one that's now up later (likely not today) and see if I can't narrow it down that way. It's captioned as 2001 which would be the same as last year, but for the sake of not just relying off that...

I agree that it's not 1996, but last year when they played (?) 1998 I didn't realize that 96 and 99 existed. I think the app said that the Christmas show last year was 98 and it was therefore assumed that the radio show was also 98 since it was also a Christmas party.

KKMK is playing what I believe is the Christmas show for 2002 tonight. No sure shot, but it starts with a Rick-spoof of Nelly's "Hot in Herre" followed by songs by N'Sync and Gloria Estefan.
