And thus the Dees selections of the week are a study in contrasts:
The 90s are both recent retreads of getting-tired shows. The 00s are both new. The 80s sort of split the difference - both repeats, but one is a tired retread (not to mention a carry-over from just last week) while the other is one coming back after a long time away.

The app has now updated to: December 7, 1985 (SS: Billy Ocean - "When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going") December 13, 1997 (SS is Olive - "You're Not Alone") December 10, 2005 (SS is Eminem - "When I'm Gone") The 80s continue to be a week off, as it's captioned as 12/14 but the SS proves it's 12/7. (Gee, both sides were way off with December 7 shows this year, weren't they? ) This is the 5th airing for 1985, which was on radio last year (12/5/2020). 1997 and 2005 are both new. Also, for 1997: Chumbawamba hit #1 on 12/6, not 12/13. (Sugar Ray are currently listed as #1 for 12/6.)

December 9, 1995 (SS: Big Mountain - "Get Together") 1995 is captioned as December 2, but the Sure Shot proves that that's wrong. This is its 5th play, it last aired last year on radio (12/12/2020). And this is now what WXCV Citrus 95.3 is playing, a week later.

Later discovered it was 12/9, which led to many other discoveries of wrongly dated shows.

2 out of 3 new shows for the app for this next week is something...I guess. Though if 1985 had had the correct show to match the caption, that would have completed the trifecta.

Third, as it would be replayed the following week. And this time we'll see if the whole thing gets played, as last year it switched to 12/8/2001 just past the halfway point (both times).

I typically don't count replays that occur less than a month later as I doubt most listeners are going to listen to the show twice in that short a period. It also could have just been a station mistake or something similar. Even when a show is played once on the app and then the next week on the radio - I count that as just one play.

I typically don't count replays that occur less than a month later as I doubt most listeners are going to listen to the show twice in that short a period. It also could have just been a station mistake or something similar. Even when a show is played once on the app and then the next week on the radio - I count that as just one play. I do count those, if only because it's a reference to what got played, not to who would be listening. And particuarly in the case of Dees 2K - even if it's a station mistake...KKMK is currently the only radio affiliate for them, at least as far as we know. So even if something else was supposed to be played, if they mess up - guess what? That supersedes any "supposed to be" selection, because there's no other way to check out what was supposed to air. For the 80s and 90s, station mistakes don't have to be counted as plays, because we can catch the correct show elsewhere (assuming the mistake isn't Dees network-wide) - like when WBEL recently played the previous week's show but WXCV and others played the correct one. We can't yet do that for Dees 2K, where right now it's KKMK or nothing. As to if a show is on the app one week and then on the radio the next, the other reason I do count those is because to not do so just leaves a blank for that given week, which doesn't feel right to me. (The same show on both the app and the radio in the same week, however, doesn't need to be counted twice.)
