Does anyone know if KLOU FM (Rewind 103.3, St. Louis, MO) plays the OE's? (Sunday 5 pm PST) Their online stream sounds pretty good.

Okay, what about WODS 103.3 in Boston? The last time I listened there, the only extra they played was an original one with Casey speaking. So I'm guessing the only extras they play are ones from the original show.

WODS doesn't play the optional extras. BTW, speaking of the optional extras, I have an opinion about them that not a lot of people will like. I think the optional extras are useless. I mean, most of the stations that play AT40: The '70s & AT40: The '80s don't play them anyway, so why bother having them in the first place.

By the way, no optional extras on KLOU.

I don't think that "most" stations leave them out (some seem to pick and choose them at random), but I have a mixed opinion of the OE's. I'd rather hear them than three or four more minutes of commercials, or some random song tossed in by the station that is often from a year far removed from the AT40 year being played. But I'd like, first and foremost, for Premiere every week to play the entire original countdown, with all original extras, stories, teases, jingles, etc., in their proper places. Then, if there are a few extra minutes in the hour, stick in a non-countdown extra from the relevant year.

I agree with you MKarns. Instead of playing outside extras every hour, they should keep the original show intact, and that includes not cutting the original songs as they were played in the countdown. I just found out recently they were doing this. Previously, I assumed AT40 did it, but I found out that's not true.

No optional extras on WHNN, at least, not today they didn't.

They didn't play them the last time I listened there, either, which would've been back in February.

Who plays the optional extras on AT40 The 70s on Sunday afternoon (1 pm Pacific time til whenever)? I'm listening to KQMA FM right now, but they sound overmodulated on their stream.

WRVF plays their own extras with their morning DJs instead of Larry Morgan. On WNIC, they only play the optional extras from the 2nd and 3rd hour.

Speaking of optional extras, does anyone have the one from the fourth hour of AT40 80s show #09-26, which aired the June 27th '09 weekend, featuring the June 28, 1980 chart? ("Fame" by Irene Cara, Mike Kasem intro and outro)

CKRU, which airs the '70s on Saturday and the '80s on Sunday (1pm Eastern) not only plays the extras at the end of each hour, it also plays a Canadian (required by law!) oldie from their own library. So you'll hear Gordon Lightfoot songs that weren't hits in the US, stuff by Keith Hampshire, and other oddities.

WCRZ Flint is inconsistent - though lately it's been none at all. On the first show of the year, 1/17/87, they played all four. Add those to the previous week's Top 3, LDDs, and original Extra, and that made for a 50-song show. Having said that, the last time they played even one was for the 5/10/80 show, and they only played the first one ("We Live For Love"). WIDL Caro (yes, a small-town station) plays all four. There's a catch to that, though - they air the show from 6-10 on Saturday mornings.
