I'm starting a new thread where we can talk about terrestrial stations that play the optional extras.
I know that we make predictions and post which extras are going to be played in the 70's and 80's threads, which is great.
What keeps happening to me is that I get used to a streaming station that plays the extras and then when they start to have problems with streaming quality, I don't know what other stations to tune to because I can't find a post that lists the stations.
For example, I listen to the 70s show on CKRU and the 80s show on WINC. Both stations play all optional extras, but the streaming quality seems to vary from week to week.
Would you guys please post your experiences? Thanks!

96.3 KKLZ Las Vegas plays the optional extras. WRIP plays the optional extras. They have a very good stream quality. WINC is very weak. I tried them a few weeks and was very dissatisfied. There are a bunch of other stations which play the optional extras. Right now as far as the 80s show goes, I'm staying with WRIP, even though it conflicts with my terrestrial recording of KKLZ's AT40 70's broadcast. For that I'll go with a streaming source. BTW, the stations which are able to stream via Winamp seem to have a better quality.
It's basically a crap shoot AFAIC. But it would be good to keep an up-to-date log of which stations are streaming, the quality of their streams, which formats they stream to (i.w. Media Player, Winamp, Flash, etc.), and whether they play optional extras.

Neither KUUL-FM (AT40: The 70s) nor KMXG (AT40: The 80s) — both Clear Channel stations in the Quad-Cities — play the optional extras.
KUUL used to play the extras, prior to the July 2008 airing of the 1979 disco special, but has since dropped this. I only later became aware of KMXG's airing of AT40: The 80s, so I cannot comment on if extras were ever aired on that station.

WBBG in Youngstown, Ohio (the only station that airs AT40: The 70s on Tuesday nights at 7 along with the weekend airings) does not play the extras.

KLOU-FM St Louis (70s) does not play the extras, but plays one song per hour from their own repertory instead, and not necessarily at the same point in the hour as the extra.
It would be really weird if the song they pick in a given hour is even from the same year as the extra.
Meanwhile, WHNN Bay City MI (70s), they who usually provide us with the Premiere cue sheets (7/8 of the time, if they don't decide to do an 80s show), the last time I checked, do play the extras.
Majic 105.7 WMJI Cleveland: no extras.

Does anybody remember what the first hour extra was for AT40 80's show #08-37 (9-20-80)? Hr 2 was Dreamer by Supertramp, Hr 3 Whip It by Devo, and You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC was the 4th hr extra.

I record AT40: The 80's from WMGA, Magic 97.9 out of somewhere in West Virginia. The quality is good, but the volume is low. However, if you use Total Recorder you can push the master volume percentage up (I have mine to 395%) it records fine. They do play all of the optional extras every week.

As played by Premiere on Sept. 13/14, 2008, the first hour extra was "The Wanderer" by Donna Summer.

WQMA plays all extras for all shows we air. On Saturday: 5am-8am Foundcuts 8am-9am Dave the Raves Relics and Rarities 9am-1pm National Countdown Show with Al Gross 1pm-4pm AT40: The 70's 4pm-10pm Supergold With Mike Harvey All times central. We've recently tweaked the sound quality to make it better. More tweaking on the way (AAC streaming is being talked about). Also we intend to create a Facebook page just for our schedule to update things like upcoming topics/years of our special weekend shows and provide cue sheets... (It'll be a different Facebook page then we use now). www.q1520radio.com

WMJI (Majic 105.7 Cleveland, www.majic1057.com, Saturdays 9-noon AND 9-midnight) may play extras if they were originally done in-program by Casey, but NOT the 'new' extras intro'd by Larry Morgan.
