We definitely need some type of consistent updated running list of which stations play the optional extras. For example this week I'm taking the 70s show off the internet since I'll be taking the 80s show off the internet at the same time I get the 70s show locally. WOGL has a great sounding stream using Winamp, but last time I used them they didn't play the optional extras. I'll probably try the WQMA as recommended here, just to paste the optional extras in to my WOGL recording. Gotta love digital editing!
Anyway, once again my usual source for AT40 the 70s, KKLZ in Vegas, plays all the optional extras for anyone who wants to use them as their streaming source.

I actually just discovered this station last weekend. It's KCLH out of La Crosse, WI. Not only did they play all optionals last week, they also played Shuckatoom in FULL!!!! They also run the 70's and 80's shows back to back, which is awesome. They play the 70's show tonight starting at 6pm eastern and then the 80's show follows at 9pm.

Guess I'm too late for WSYA this week. Thanks for the tip though. I just checked out 4 stations playing AT40 the 70s between now and the end of tonight (Saturday - PST). KCLH, which you mention, to me has a pretty weak sounding stream. Sounds like it's in mono. However the next station which starts at 4PM PST is KLCX and their stream sounds fantastic. Hopefully they will play the OEs. Then there's WORC, which again doesn't sound all that good, and same for KONO. Those are the stations listed on Nenad for the rest of today for me (It's around 3PM west coast time as I write this). Plenty more to choose from tomorrow. I'm sure I'll find something. I think I'll record the entire KLCX show regardless of OEs 'cause it sounds so good!

You can find the lineup of the AT40: the '80s show, including the Optional Extras, at the website of WMMX-FM Mix 107.7 in Dayton, OH. www.mix1077.com/pages/AT40CaseyKasem.htmlThey run the '80s show on Saturdays at 6 am EST. (I copied this from my posting at the '80s thread.)

Yes, they did play all optionals and even played Shuckatoom in full. But my recording from this station screwed up big time, so I had to record the show elsewhere.

What we ultimately need is something in the form of an Excel spreadsheet with a list of all stations airing AT40 70s/80s and which ones play the OEs.

WBBG in Youngstown, OH, the only station that airs AT40: The 70s on Tuesday nights at 7:00, does not play the optional extras. It's been a while since I listened, so I don't know if it's still the case.

Thanks for the tip. Listening to it now, their stream signal sounds great! According to PD Colin Botten, CKDK runs the optional extras whenever they need to fill an hour, so the answer to my original question is, "Sometimes."

KLCX no longer airs AT40 The 70s. And you're right, by the way, analog80s70s - KCLH's stream is in mono.

WORC in Webster,MA carries "AT40-The 70's" from 7-10 AM every Saturday morning-They play the first two optional extras. This week they only played the first extra, at least in the online stream, which also cut off the closing theme as soon as Casey stopped talking, without Larry's added credits.
