According to the website, they're actually doing 1983 this weekend. I don't think 12/3 has ever been featured yet. Guessing that means 1986 will be pushed to next weekend? Alan just said 1986 on his regular show. It was preceded by the gem where he mentioned SXM is giving a trip away to the 'Bowl in Vegas in 2024, but he didn't know the date of the game. What amazing research, it's not like these games are scheduled a year, or five, in advance. I wonder if 83 is a next week leak?

Next week it'll be yet another rerun, 1983. Can someone please tell me this will be it for these this year?
OMG I didn't know they actually had a version of the Stars On 45 medley that didn't chop the Venus/Sugar Sugar intro.

At least they won't be doing 1982 next week, which would have duplicated Casey. After 1983, 1982 is the year not played in the next longest time, so maybe that'll be next.
Though I wouldn't mind if they waited another week for the 12/25/82 chart, which we'll never get from Premiere as AT40 did its year end show over two weeks (the same is true for 12/27/80 and 12/26/81; the three could also be considered the first charts of the following Januarys).

Agreed, 1982 has been neglected overall for 2023, and is next in rotation. Back to back years have been very rare in the yearly selection.

It's funny that they played a Chicago song right after Peter Cetera's #1 duet after tonight's airing.

It's an epidemic, this "repeat charts from last year" nonsense. Over on the 90s channel, they've fallen into a cycle of repeating whatever year they featured a year ago. The previous three weeks were repeat charts and the only reason this week's was not is because the calendar shifted and we got 11/29/97 instead of last year's 12/6/97.
The 80s repeats may not be over with either. If they stay in sequence and play 1982 next, we'll be good, but if they shuffle things around we could get 1985 next...

Looks like they're back to playing the wrong versions of songs again. Can't wait for them to play Rick Springfield's recent "Automatic" instead of the Pointer Sisters once they do 1984 again.

With 1982 next week, I'm guessing this means 1985 will be a lock for the possible last regular show of the year?

1985 could be played either the weekend before Christmas or New Years; I'm not sure that either week will have a special show. At least the fact that we just heard 1986 last week means that we probably won't get January 1986 just after December 1985; I remember when 80s on 8 played those two months, and thus most of the same songs, in back to back weeks.

The folks in charge of programming just can't conceptualize that 1985 was 38 years ago, and guess what, 1986 also becomes 38 years ago.

1982 should be a new chart, the first in quite a while. And as of next week, every 1982 chart from 10/23 through the end of the year will have been featured at least once.
Meanwhile, the 90s countdown finally breaks their "repeat from last year" streak, and yet they still manage to make a lousy choice for this week. We get a 1993 chart, but they go with 12/4 which was played three years ago, whereas 12/11 (closer to today's date) was last played eleven years ago.
