The shakeup with the year rotation makes it trickier to predict what will happen in September. We had thought that 1982 would appear over Labor Day weekend and that still seems like a good bet. If so, it would be a repeat from last year, but at the same time would not (likely) copy Premiere since they played 9/4/82 last year.
Also, since 1986 got the shaft for August, we're now likely to get a repeat since all of September has been done.

I thought for sure that by featuring 1988 for a second time in two weeks, that they would return to the pattern they used for eight months. It does look like the late 80's may be favored with 1988 out of the 10 weeks cycle, and now 1987 came earlier than it was supposed to. I still would like to know who schedules the years played. |

Wow, this week's 1980 Big 40 show was the first time I've seen Nina announce a 20-plus-spot drop without using any adjectives. It was during Nina's first talk-break after "The Empire Strikes Back Medley" (at #38, having fallen from its peak of #18 the previous week).

Sorry for the double-post, but the August 13, 1988 Big 40 repeat show is already gone from S-XM On Demand a day before it was supposed to.

That is strange, usually the Friday night episode, which will be 1987 this week, replaces the two week old show, 1988.

A couple of days ago, there were no Big 40 shows available on demand. I messaged Sirius/XM and asked about it, but I never received a reply.

The 1980 show is still up right now. I'm guessing it was an accident but to be honest, with them doing 1988 twice within three weeks, it doesn't surprise me.

SXM went forward instead of backwards in terms of chart dates this week, so this week's show is August 29, 1987--same as Premiere's AT40.

It should be 9/1/84, with some extra airings sprinkled in with it being Labor Day weekend next week.

I'm sure we'll get to it soon but at least they aren't repeating 9/4/82 like I was expecting. Maybe it'll be next week? Whatever it is I just hope it's not 9/13/86 again because frankly I will be a little angry if they went out their way to repeat that one.

As skeptical as I am of any logical decisions coming our way, I am hoping for several things in the coming weeks:
For 1984, they really need to play the closest chart to the calendar date instead of leaping ahead a week as they've been doing.
Then, they need to *not* play 1986 the following week.
Oh, who am I kidding? I'd bet money neither of these things happen. I've been doing this way too long...
