It should be 7/15 (or 14 as the VJs would say), which will be new. Hoping this means we'll be back on track with the new chart dates for a while.

This week's was July 11, 1981, which is a show we don't get from Premiere (and the #40 song is one that we'll never hear on a Casey countdown), but true to recent form next week we'll be getting the following week (7/18/81) from Casey.
At least next week's Big 40 (July 15, 1989) is one that we can count on not being repeated or near-replicated by Premiere at any time, unless either Shadoe Stevens or Casey's Westwood One shows were to enter the mix.

Worth noting, for those who have heard the countdown - the AT40 from next week's 1989 accidentally switched #33 and #32 (thus, they counted down #33 as "I'm That Type of Guy" and #32 as "Down Boys"). They should air here in correct order.

If the year pattern continues, we would get another new show after 1989, followed by a repeat from nine years ago, followed by the much overplayed 8/6/88, which will likely be another copy of Premiere, and would set us up for nothing but overdone 1988 repeats for the rest of the year.

Shoot! Somehow I missed marking this one. OK, yeah, 7/27/85 has been done. I still wouldn't necessarily set 85/88 in stone as to which will air what week, if only because those have been the only two years so far this year where there's been any deviation. (And actually, if THAT continues, then it'll be 88's turn to go first between the two, so 88 would land on 7/30 while 85 lands on 8/3.)

I guess they are going with five odd years and then five even years, at least for now. If this continues, 1983 will follow 1989, then 1985, then 1988.

7-23-83 (7-22-83 in their view) is most certain to play! No other date would make sense.

If the year rotation continues, we should see another new 1989 chart in late September. Unfortunately, this would be preceded by a four-time repeat from 1981. Oh well, you can't have everything, and I'd rather get something new from 1989 anyhow.

Nina Blackwood's absent this week so no weekly chart screw-ups from her.

Of course they for once decide to switch things once they got to 1985. They're determined to skip over the whole chart run of "You're Only Human" again aren't they?
At least this means that they aren't going to repeat Premiere if they do Casey's final show.

Premiere will never do 7/30 as that was the infamous show guest hosted by the guys:
From Rob Durkee American Top 40: Darryl Morden recalled Hall and Oates were terrible. You'd think guys like that would be friendly and nice, but they were neither, which was kind of a disappointment. They has a 'let's get this over with' kind of attitude.' Matt Wilson, who directed the duo, perceived a possible failure to communicate. 'I don't blame them. They had a show that night at the Hollywood Bowl. I believe they were misled into thinking they'd be in and out in 20 minutes. It was partly ABC and partly their manager though I could be wrong. I know this...you can't voice a full length countdown in 20 minutes'.

It's just that all this talk about them doing 8/6/88 every five years so far got me relieved that we won't have to worry about the VJs' take on that chart. It looks like they're going back to the original order of years (80, 86, 82, 84, 87, 81, 83, 88, 85), because 85 and 88 were switched in May.
