Another story, remember seeing him in the Summer of 1983 on a talk show and the host asked him, "what's a hot song this Summer, Casey". Casey seemed to be taken a little off guard by the question. After all, this was 1983 and there were many new and unfamilar acts hitting the chart thanks to MTV and the "Second British Revolution". Casey went with the safe answer: Elton John. However, it mangled the song title calling it "I'm Standing Still" rather than "I'm Still Standing". Yes, a safe answer, do you remember what show he was on?

FYI, Rick Stacy did send me an email about the airing of AT40 on XM8 stating, "Thanks for your e-mail. We apologize for the missing show Thursday. I will look into what happened and the show will run regularly on Sundays at 12 noon eastern and Thursdays at 7p eastern. We'll make sure there is no further mistaken information pertaining to Casey." I guess no more shows will be skipped. I was surprised on a repsonse and the positive tone of the email. GOOD NEWS!! I got my own e-mail from Rick Stacy. I'll give him props for actually bothering to respond, but the response I got contradicts the one you got, Karstens. He said that he made the decision himself to pull the show last Thursday at the last minute due to "the vicious e-mails he had gotten from people that didn't like Casey, or any talking period on XM Radio". He said that due to the e-mails he received like mine, he has made the decision to air the shows as scheduled, although he did state the same 7:00pm start time for Thursday. I'm assuming he meant Pacific time. So it appears my guess about knee-jerk decision making seems to be correct. Don't be surprised if they change their minds again next week. Matt

It wasn't a personal email addressed to just you Jag. He is sending it to everyone. I got a reply for two of the ones I sent, and both said the exact same thing; Here it is:
Paul,
Thanks for your e-mail. I apologize for the missing Thursday show. I was concerned about the extremely vicious emails we received from listeners that did not like Casey or any talking on channel 8. I did hold off on running the Thursday 7pm show last week at the last minute, but as of Friday I have decided to run it as scheduled originally. The show will run regularly on Sundays at 12 noon eastern and Thursdays at 7p eastern. We'll make sure there is no further mistaken information or missing shows. My concern was only to make the best decision for the subscribers like you. Please accept my apology.
Thanks again for writing and for being an XM subscriber.
Best regards, Rick

God forbid these "vicious" subscribers have to listen to three hours of "talking" one night a week. Get an iPod if you're that anal about having music with no personality. Or switch to one of the other 70+ music channels during that time.[/rant]
Hopefully there's enough supporters of AT40 to keep it on a normal schedule from now on.

This is precisely what I have been complaining about for three years now. This subculture can't stand the true variety they claim they want. Thats why they got AT40 off before because Casey was "too mainstream." They got KIIS Fm kicked off because it was "commercial radio", however I find it so funny that a lot of the people who originally complained about it wanted it back a year or so later when they figured out Kiss XM was going to play the same things over and over again. Basically the whole service is hijacked by these people and that was evident with the "vicious" emails they got this week.
