"Can I Get a Witness" by Lee Michaels was never played. AT40 aired a special the week it was on the Forty. "Angel" by Rod Stewart was never played, either. They played the flip side, "Lost Paraguayos," by mistake.

In 2002, there was "A Little Less Conversation" by JXL f/Elvis Presley. It was a shame that Ed McMann was guest-hosting so we didn't get to hear Casey introduce it. Although he did mention it as a dropper the following week.
Earlier this year, there was "Find You" by Zedd f/Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant and last year there was "Pretty Brown Eyes" by Cody Simpson.

There were 2 songs in 2008 that did that:
Calling You - Blue October Just Stand Up! - Artists Stand Up To Cancer

Also last year there was "Harlem Shake" by Baauer, which spent one week at #40 in March 2013. That week the version heard on AT40 was only about two minutes long, which may give it the record for literally the shortest chart run in AT40 history.

One of my favorites from a show I hope to get to hear next year: "Trying To Make A Fool Of Me" by the Delfonics spent one week on AT40---the July 25, 1970 show.

Like to add "Resurrection Shuffle" by Ashton, Gardner, and Dyke from the August 8, 1971 show. Casey quipped, "Sounds like some kind of law firm." Also a couple of tidbits about Fanny's "Charity Ball". It's only week at #40 was November 6, 1971, which was the first week of AT 40 not hosted by Casey. Dave Hull would introduce the song that day. Casey would introduce and play "Charity Ball" in the 80s during a segment about the first all female rock band to reach the top 40. The cover to Fanny's "Charity Ball" album was shot by then well-known model and photographer, but later better known actress Candice Bergen. www.realgonemusic.com/news/2014/4/16/fanny.html

Other 1990/1991 songs on Shadoe's AT40 that spent a week on: Tina Turner - Steamy Windows Poco - Nothing To Hide Lou Gramm - True Blue Love Timmy T - Time After Time En Vogue - Lies Slaughter - Spend My Life Poison - Ride The Wind Harriet - Temple of Love Celine Dion - (If There Was) Any Other Way Keith Washington - Kissing You Stereo MC's - Elevate My Mind Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam - Let The Beat Hit 'Em Desmond Child - Love On A Rooftop Jomanda - Got A Love For You I think "Ooops Up" by Snap! was just a week, but not certain. And on Casey's Top 40, unlike "Spend My Life" which didn't chart, I'm pretty sure "Real Love" by Slaughter was just on once.

One song that spent two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, but was only played for one week on AT40: "It's Inevitable" by Charlie. The song debuted on AT40 on 8/6/83 and was at #38 the following week before dropping out. However, the week of 8/13/83 when it was at #38, "Pieces of Ice" by Diana Ross was mistakenly played instead, even though it dropped out of the Top 40 that week. At least Charlie got to played for one week--and it would be their only week on the 40.

I think "Ooops Up" by Snap! was just a week, but not certain. Nope. Off the top of my head, that debuted at #40 on 10/13/90 and would reach #35.

Correct my if I'm wrong, but didn't Norman Connors spend just one week in R&R's Top 40 in 1976 with "You Are My Starship"?

I'm confused. I thought KT&G's Jones vs. Jones was in the top 40 for two weeks, if not actually PLAYED on AT40 twice. Same for Two Hearts by SM&TP. (The Beatles July 4, 1981 special got in their way.)
Off the top of my head ...
Shania Twain • Dont' Be Stupid En Vogue • Lies Poco • Nothin' To Hide Shana • I Want You Tina Tuner • Steamy Windows Lou Gramm • True Blue Love Timmy T • Time After Time Boy George • Live My Life
... I thought the highest one week wonder was The Singing Dogs with Susanna/Jingle Bells? It hit #22 in 1955.

^I alluded to this in an earlier post in this thread, about 6 years earlier than now! But having just ran across the answer that I alluded to in that post, I will reiterate that Casey said on the 7/19/86 show that excluding Christmas records, the record holder for this is Chuck Berry's "Roll Over Beethoven". It debuted on the entire top 100 chart at #29 and then fell to 87 before rebounding a bit in the 70s and then 80s for a few weeks and falling off. *Record holder meaning the song that debuted the highest in the top 40 that fell off after one week.

Here's one from 1992: Boyz II Men's "Please Don't Go". (#38 on 5/2)
